Pleasantly Surprised

The load times are very fast, integration with installed apps/services is very clean. I do own an AppleTV 4k but the Chromecast will probably be my daily driver. Only if I could install AppleTV+ on that too (I can install it on my RokuTV also) it would definitely be hard to beat.

Love this product!

I have to admit that I love it and use it over the 'Smart TV' menu. I highly recommend it... My one beef though, I do love the slideshow capabilities and this does come with it, but it times out after 30 minutes and there doesn't appear to be a setting to change this. I plugged in my old Chromecast and use that for slideshows!

Like a portable television

Just plug it into the hdmi port of any TV and you have the ability to watch any streaming service you subscribe to. You are also able to cast anything on your phone or tablet that is available to cast directly to a television. Great for travel. Just plug it in to the TV in your hotel room and watch your favorite channels.

The best streaming device at that price point

Price aside, I’d give the win to the Apple TV, but relative to Fire TV and Roku, the Chromecast + Google TV is far better. The UI is simple and intuitive and not flooded with ads. The device runs pretty smoothly and the video quality is solid.

Definite Chromecast upgrade

My setup has included a Roku Ultra and a Chromecast, but now I don't know that I need both of them. I so far haven't found any app on Roku that I use that isn't on the Chromecast. This isn't as quick and responsive as my Roku, but it isn't too much a difference. Overall I have been very happy with this upgrade to my system. I notice that I use the Roku less and less now that I have it so time will tell if it just replaces that as well.
