It replaces an Apple TV. Google is smarter in the home space no doubt. Very happy with the purchase Insert and use. Very simple. Apple’s tv remote looks and feels better. Google’s is ok. Then again this one will not shatter when u drop it. Would buy again if it broke.

With tweaking you could run some emulators with some slow down. The UI is bloated and a bit slow / laggy. Your experience may vary with a type-c hub, the storage would be recognized and randomly not be detected.

My LG TV did not have it and had to purchase this low cost device to add it to my current family of Google devices. It's an easy and inexpensive solutions for those TVs that do not have access to the Google play store.

All of the apps you need to stream to your tv are present YouTube, Amazon Video, Hulu, Disney+ and many others. All of which you can stream in 4K which is great. So if your looking for a cheap way to stream directly to your tv this is absolutely the best bet

Sometime disconnects the volume, power and input connections to the tv; but I think that may be tv related. I can't tell yet. Bought 3 of these for all our TV's, they all work fine.

Easy to use, easy to setup.

All versions was good but this one is really a smart TV with all benefits of chromecast. I connected it to my projector and Bluetooth soundbar. Now I don't have to worry with HDMI cables etc, to project videos and online content to screen.
