The Chromecast with Google TV is nearly perfect, save for a few flaws. The memory fills up fast, even when you have a few apps. With no room for expansion this is a problem. It also loses connection to the remote sometimes, which is a drag but you can download a phone app to pair it. Otherwise we love it.

4K HDR at this price is a steal. I would rather use this than an Apple TV, because of the highly superior Google Assistant. Only thing it's missing is more integrations with other sound and tv companies, as well as remote learning. If it could grab the signal from another remote it would be the only thing I would recommend to others.

Just got this thing so I haven't used it long but its awesome. Being able to tell it what I want to find instead of typing is worth the money. It groups all the apps in one place and just makes it easy. Wish I knew about this sooner lol

Bought this one for my projector but some reason it wont works like i planned instead used on my old tv it works fine

Better voice search than roku and I like being able to search and get recommendations across multiple streaming services. Lost a star because a lot of apps are not connected to the search function (e.g. Vudu). There is also just one row listing your apps so you have to scroll through to find anything.

Middle of the road review which may or may not be fair. Perhaps I should have done more research. I have a boat at a marina that has WiFi service. However, like many hotels, it uses a captive portal for credentials which neither the TV nor this device support. So I was hoping to connect my iPad to Marina WiFi and use the screen mirroring function, connecting the Chromecast to my iPads mobile hotspot, to watch vids. Well, evidently screen mirroring isn’t really screen mirroring. It passes the url of the content. So instead of what I would loosely call a peer to peer network between chromecast and my iPad to share content, it’s chromecast to iPad, to Internet. Sounds like a subtle difference but there does appear to be a huge performance hit.I can watch the content directly on my iPad no problem. If it try to stream it to TV via chromecast, buffering. It does work however.

The only thong i don’t like about this is that the remote is very sensitive so you have to get used to that

It's great to tap the 'speak' button and give the name of a movie, have the TV start and go straight to streaming choices. Google TV is cool. Unfortunately both it and the TV get confused of what audio to play if some one is Casting from their phone and someone else tryies to play from Google Home and someone else for the remote.

Chromecast device was pretty easy to setup, and add apps.

This is easily the best streaming device if you like Google and the Google Assistant. It is also really nice to have a remote but has all the same functionality as all the previous generations. So if you are against using the remote, you don't need to use it.

I like the inbuilt channels but I believe more could be done to improve access to other apps which are difficult to download.

TV lags a bit and had to remove cache from certain apps. I had to replug it in because it was sensing the hdmi plugged in even thought it was, in fact, plugged in.

This chrome cast is excellent and is perfect for having the options for apps along with streaming.

Setup was a breeze, and I was able to plug in, connect to my WIFI, and start streaming in less than 5min. Quality seems to be pretty good and I was even able to listen to the TV on my Bluetooth headphones while the family was sleeping!

Perfect! It did exactly what I wanted it to do. The bad thing is that now I have like 6 controllers for all my stuff. If only someone could create a universal remote for all of these modern gadgets.

Works great with my older smart tv. The TV is no longer compatible with Netflix and Amazon prime. This works much better.

Great for turning old monitors into TV's or older 'dumb' TV's into a smart TV. The only complaint i have is the lack of updates/bug fixes from google. They finally updated it May 2022, but i still have WiFi issues with this having to reauthenticate on the network.

I love this so much it’s so amazing it’s has apps embedded into it especially if u don’t have a smart tv u can just use this

Got this to replace my firestick, which was crashing and getting slow. This Google one is way better, much more responsive, doesn't crash, has every app imaginable, little bit more than the firestick but it's worth it in my opinion, 10/10
