We hear your concern about switching inputs, and we’d be happy to share this information with the right team for future improvements. Meanwhile, A range issue or wireless interference can cause your Chromecast to have performance issues. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the Chromecast and your router as these items could block the connection. We also suggest clearing the app cache that might help as having a sizable amount of cache stored, would affect its performance. Here’s how:
- From the Google TV home screen, in the top right, go to the user profile icon and select Settings.
- Select Apps and choose the app you're having trouble with.
- If you can't find it, select See all apps.
- Select Clear cache and then Ok.

Purchased to see a concert on the tv from my phone but could never get it to connect. We would up retuning it bc it didn't work for that purpose. Otherwise we have streaming devices already.

Casting issues can be related to some settings on your Wi-Fi network or your casting devices. We suggest performing these steps and see if this will improve your experience:
- Ensure that your mobile phone and Chromecast are connected on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Turn off Power Saving Mode. As it can limit the processing power of casting devices which might affect the performance of the device..
- Decrease the distance between the TV, router, and your Chromecast with Google TV.
- Make sure that the Chromecast-enabled apps are all up to date.
- Connect Chromecast with Google TV to another HDMI port on your TV or another TV.
- Turn off other connected devices to your Wi-Fi network while casting to avoid congestion.

Really wish this had a more power CPU. I ended up going with the Apple TV 4K instead.

The Remote needs a light! When you are lying in bed watching tv with the lights off you can't see the buttons!
