Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. All Chromecast devices require a TV with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3 or higher built-in. HDCP 2.2 is required to support 4K content. Most televisions that are five years old or newer and have HDMI ports will have at least one port that supports HDCP 2.2. It's most likely that the issue could be related to a lower version with either the HDMI Cable you're using or the soundbar itself or even both. We recommend checking that your set up meets these minimum requirements in order to get the best experience with your Chromecast with Google TV.

Disappointed in Google
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like the Google Tv function on the new Chromecast but am sorely disappointed. I bought this because the Amazon Fire Sticks, Boxes and Insignia Tvs I use didn't have HBOMax on them as well as my Fire Tv Box was getting old and showing signs of slowing. Let me just point out that I have subscriptions to YoutubeTv, Netflix, HBOMax, Disney+ and a handful of other streaming services so I wwas hopeful that this would be a great alternative to Amazon sticks. I do love the interface that Google has incorporated into their device but upon completion of set up and adding all my services, the internet connection was glitchy. It didn't matter which service I was on, the top right would always display "Connected to the internet" every 30 seconds which is annoying in itself, but every couple of minutes the screen would be loading for 30 seconds on YoutubeTv, Disney+, etc. I researched it and went through countless instructions on how to remedy it to no avail. I also messed with my router and modem countless times even though it was not the issue. BTW the Chromecast was in my living room 2 feet from the router and modem so connection should not have been a problem. Also I have gigabit internet so the speed is not the problem either.

The Chromecast device was built to operate between certain temperature thresholds. When Chromecast operates at the upper level of this range, the device becomes warm to the touch. It has been tested under high performance conditions and that the resulting temperatures are well within the safety limits specified by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in order to pass regulatory requirements.
If you think your Chromecast is overheating, try the steps below that might help:
Step 1: Unplug the Chromecast device from the power source and from the TV, and let the device cool down for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: Try to plug the Chromecast device to a different power outlet.
Step 3: Make sure the Chromecast is correctly plugged in.
- Make sure the power outlet is not prone to surges.
- Place a Chromecast device where there is proper ventilation to dissipate heat. Avoid placing Chromecast devices near sources of warm air such as the TV’s vents.
- If the power source is plugged into the TV's USB, plug Chromecast directly into the outlet so it can get consistent power.
- If a special cable or adapter is used to connect Chromecast to the power outlet, make sure voltage does not exceed 5V.
- Make sure the TV is tuned to the same HDMI input that the Chromecast is connected to.
