Probably the best streamer for the money. If you want an affordable option to Roku and Nvidia Sheild, this is your best choice. Easy setup and works well with my Visio Smart TV. Will upgrade my other TV's soon with the new Chromecast.

    Great portable streaming device

Works great. Has all the streaming services apps and works very smoothly. Most google devices tend to be a bit clunky and slow. This one doesn’t suffer from that. I purchased to take on trips and use in the car with a backseat screen. Works great because it runs from USB C and the car provides the power. I did run from a power bank so the device could stay on if we had to stop.. but the device boots so quickly it probably isn’t needed.

I have both a Chromecast 4k device (for one week) and a Google TV (two Months). Pleased with both, especially since I am a Google/Nest home with Android cellphones. Had Roku TV's and devices for years before making this switch. Here is the difference between Roku and Google TV devices. Google is faster with more customizable. Roku is stable and consistent. Kinda like the difference between iPhone/IOS and Android phones. Both are great just depends what you value the most. If you want an experience that is straight forward, a bit walled off and works consistently with no fuss go with Roku. If you want fast, deep integration with other platforms and the ability to fully customize your experience and willing to put up with some technical difficulties occasionally then go for Google TV.

Easy to setup and syncs very easily with any tv. All apps in one place with ease of use however the continue watching feature only works with shows on google or disney but not with netflix or amazon. Would definitely get another one.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Chromecast is a game-changer for home entertainment! It seamlessly turns any TV into a smart TV, allowing me to stream my favorite shows, movies, and music directly from my phone or laptop to the big screen. Setting up Chromecast was incredibly easy; I simply plugged it into my TV's HDMI port and connected it to my Wi-Fi network. The Google Home app guided me through the process in minutes. I love how versatile Chromecast is. Whether I'm using it to watch YouTube videos, Netflix, Disney+, or even to cast photos from my phone, the streaming quality is excellent and reliable. It supports up to 1080p HD resolution, ensuring sharp and clear visuals. The best part is the affordability. Chromecast is a cost-effective way to upgrade your TV without having to buy a whole new smart TV. Plus, it's compact and portable, making it easy to take with me on trips or use in different rooms. Overall, Google Chromecast has transformed how I enjoy entertainment at home. It's reliable, easy to use, and offers fantastic value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their TV viewing experience.

    Better than Firestick 4K

Skip the Firestick, go straight for this. It is SOOO much more responsive than the Amazon offering. It took several seconds sometimes for my Firestick 4K to respond to a remote command. The Google TV responds almost quicker than you can click. The picture quality seems better too, somehow. And for the same price? No contest. Bluetooth connecting with headphones is lightning fast on Google TV. The Firestick took several moments to recognize my headphones were powered on and connect to them. Not so with the Google TV. It connects immediately every time. There was no delay between the video and audio, either. The one thing I noticed that I didn't like is it does take a while to setup with the Google Home app. But you only have to do that once, so...

First one that I got was defective and would not boot up fully. Light blinked a bunch but nada on my screen. Went back to the store and traded it for another which worked immediately. So much better than the standard Chromecast. The casting was fine but sometimes it would act funny and the stuff I watched sometimes skipped around even though I had it set up on 5ghz, same as my phone. None of those issues exist with this one. The remote is great and linked up to my A/V receiver (which I got second hand with no remote) allowing me to control the volume. Also I was able to put more apps on this thing, including emulators. So now I can play SNES games with my PS5 controller linked up via bluetooth. It's great.

This is a great streamer for the price, my only complaint is it has such little internal storage so don't plan on loading a ton of apps, just the essentials. If you need more space/app support get the Nvidia shield tv. If money is no object, get the apple tv instead as it's by far my favorite streamer because it always works and is always fast, and has other perks other streamers still don't have. Apps can get janky on android tv devices and especially cheap FireTV sticks which makes them frustrating to deal with, and they tend to run sluggish/choppy.

The older generation Chromecast devices are glitchy. But, this one is super solid. And, it isn't just Chromecast. It is a full TV streaming platform with a remote that puts it in the same category as Apple TV and Roku. I'm a big Apple TV user, but now I use this much more than Apple TV. It is cheaper, smaller, and for the most part just as functional. It even has a stripped down Apple TV app built in. I'm a huge fan of this. Only complaint is the form factor on the remote. It is small, slippery, hard to hang onto, and the volume controls are especially wonky to push. Except for that, this would be 5 stars on ease of use. But, you can live with that since the device is so solid.

This is a great buy to make a dumb TV smart. It's relatively inexpensive, ( vs buying a smart tv) and it does a lot. The voice comprehension is particularly good. It understands what is being asked quite nicely. It's able to tell you calendar events as well assuming you use Google calendar for appointments. What i struggled with a bit was initial password setup and user ids. In some cases you can use a QR code to do that on your mobile or computer. That's a much better option than the on screen keyboard which is painful to use.

These are great for those who travel or for your home tv. Some of us like to throw all kinds of wild content from our phone to the tv while we are away from family or work with out fear of judgement and let me tell you google makes it so easy. In fact so easy that now my right arm is much more tone. Its good for health!!
