I'm really impressed with this! I've had other chromecasts, but this one was really easy to set up and I was really impressed with how easy it was to pare with my older TV. The Remote is easy to use and I'm really happy that I bought it!

Saving $90 a month with Chromecast

Works great--turned my 10-year old dumb TV into a really SMART TV.
I first purchased the Chromecast without its own remote, which you have to operate from your smart phone. That was too difficult for me so I took that one back and bought this one. Plugged it in and all of a sudden I had all the apps you could ever want, listed on my TV screen. I opted for Sling Blue for watching most of my favorite cable channels, like CNN, and I already had an Amazon Prime account. Then I disconnected my Spectrum cable box and cancelled the cable part of my account. My bill instantly dropped from $200 to $90 a month. My only complaint with the Chromecast is the size of the remote. It is so small that when you try to use the volume buttons on the side with your thumb, there is nothing left to help in your hand.

Works, great and excellent picture. Very easy and straightforward to use the remote. I like the feature when you hit the power button, it switches the TV to Chromecast input.

Great product. One of the best streaming devices out right now for the price. Have not had any issues with it. Loads fast and plays everything we need. Remote controls everything from TV to soundbar so no need for multiple remotes either.

I really like the Chromecast with Google TV. I had been using the Google - Chromecast Ultra 4K Streaming Media Players on several TV setups but wanted a way to control the volume on my Denon AVR and the Chromecast with Google TV does just that. It took me a while to figure out how to do that without using CEC but I was able to do it without using Anynet + CEC through ARC on my Samsung TV. I have been having problems with Anynet + CEC through ARC on my Samsung not working properly with my Denon receiver. Note that I also have a TiVo Stream 4K device for which I have yet been able to control volume with its remote without CEC being enabled. I also have Roku ULTRA devices which work great and a Apple TV 4K which is very expensive and I hate its remote. It is a tossup between the Roku ULTRA and the Chromecast with Google TV - 4K but you can't cast to the Roku devices. I ended up using both devices

Best Streaming Device!

I think I have every streaming device out there... Shield TV Pro, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Fire TV... This one is the best, when you factor in price. If price isn't an option, I would highly suggest the NVIDIA Shield TV with 4K AI upscaling, wired Ethernet, and GeForce's Game Stream. But most people probably don't need all that and would prefer to purchase something at least 1/3 or the price. This is that device. New Google TV UI on top of Android TV looks good. Tons of recommended content instead of just apps in your face. But if you want apps, they still got them as you can download almost any app from the Android TV ecosystem. Highly recommended product!

Very good deal, It's basically a slightly different Android TV, but it's fast, works well, and even better, you don't have to switch remotes. Much better deal than Fire or Roku sticks. Even better if you have a Google based smart home.

I bought this product and also an Apple TV 4K because I wanted to use 4K. Since both items arrived on the same day, I started by unpacking the Chromecast with Google 4K. I felt in love with it immediately. So much so, that I still haven’t unwrap the Apple TV 4K (2nd generation).
What I love the best about it is the remote. The device works as expected, great image quality. But the remote. During the initial setup, the remote asked me what type of TV and sound system I have, and now I can use this small remote to turn the TV on/off, mute the soundbar or change it’s volume, in addition to the functions I expected (pause the movie, fast forward, choose another movie, etc). Really well done job. It was worth every penny.

Best streaming device for the money

I've been using Chromecasts since the first version and have loved them with one exception, they lacked a remote. The Chromecast with Google TV is almost a perfect streaming device. It seems to handle everything I throw at it. The interface is very fast and clean. The assistant button is the best feature IMO because it helps you to quickly start watching what you want without hunting around for it. I use Plex and I was hoping it would search my Plex library, but that doesn't seem to be the case which is a bummer but not a huge deal. This handles Dolby Vision/Atmos which is a big deal to me since my LG OLED tv supports both formats. It also supports HDR 10. Overall, this is a solid device and you won't be disappointed coming from any other device such as Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, or the older Chromecasts.

This is a great buy to make a dumb TV smart. It's relatively inexpensive, ( vs buying a smart tv) and it does a lot.
The voice comprehension is particularly good.
It understands what is being asked quite nicely.
It's able to tell you calendar events as well assuming you use Google calendar for appointments.
What i struggled with a bit was initial password setup and user ids.
In some cases you can use a QR code to do that on your mobile or computer.
That's a much better option than the on screen keyboard which is painful to use.

This is a great streamer for the price, my only complaint is it has such little internal storage so don't plan on loading a ton of apps, just the essentials. If you need more space/app support get the Nvidia shield tv. If money is no object, get the apple tv instead as it's by far my favorite streamer because it always works and is always fast, and has other perks other streamers still don't have. Apps can get janky on android tv devices and especially cheap FireTV sticks which makes them frustrating to deal with, and they tend to run sluggish/choppy.

Amazing and fast easy to use and a addition of a controller is amazing although I would say that the controller is really sensitive so there’s a lot of miss clicks and also slips a lot off of my hands but other then that it’s perfect

The best decision chromecast ever made so far. The best interface on all streaming devices. The addition of the remote is good too but not the best (FireTV remote). It has all of the apps and customization for the viewer's pleasure.

Device operates quickly and google tv is easy to use. WiFi works well and connection is reliable. Not very much storage and additional apps fills it up fast. Plan on adding USB hub and flash drives to expand it. Some hubs require larger USB power supply. I like the remote. Prefer this over Firestick.

Bought one to try as both a good device for Google TV and and to see if it would be better than my Roku. This unit plugs right into the back my my TV, and because my TV does not have a newer USB port, I have to run a power cable to it, so it does not look great with my wall mounted TV. I already disconnected the Google TV service as it's really not much cheaper than cable TV and I dislike the menu UI a lot compared to Verizon FIOS. However, as a device to display streaming channels, it's pretty good, and one thing we especially like is seeing movie and TV options from all of the streaming services I subscribe to, instead of loading each service and looking for shows.
The remote is OK, and the system is actually more responsive than my Roku (the most powerful of the Roku line), and the voice search works well. The ability to bookmark shows in the main menu seems inconsistent, but I am enjoying the unit overall and it might replace our Roku for good.
