Chromecast with Google TV - 4K
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup and syncs very easily with any tv. All apps in one place with ease of use however the continue watching feature only works with shows on google or disney but not with netflix or amazon. Would definitely get another one.

Best streamer out there
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used many streamers and prefer this one. I like the UI, the content and it's recommendations that come up on the main screen. It's easy use and the price is great.

Chromecast With Google TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The older generation Chromecast devices are glitchy. But, this one is super solid. And, it isn't just Chromecast. It is a full TV streaming platform with a remote that puts it in the same category as Apple TV and Roku. I'm a big Apple TV user, but now I use this much more than Apple TV. It is cheaper, smaller, and for the most part just as functional. It even has a stripped down Apple TV app built in. I'm a huge fan of this. Only complaint is the form factor on the remote. It is small, slippery, hard to hang onto, and the volume controls are especially wonky to push. Except for that, this would be 5 stars on ease of use. But, you can live with that since the device is so solid.

Simple but powerful little device
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First one that I got was defective and would not boot up fully. Light blinked a bunch but nada on my screen. Went back to the store and traded it for another which worked immediately. So much better than the standard Chromecast. The casting was fine but sometimes it would act funny and the stuff I watched sometimes skipped around even though I had it set up on 5ghz, same as my phone. None of those issues exist with this one. The remote is great and linked up to my A/V receiver (which I got second hand with no remote) allowing me to control the volume. Also I was able to put more apps on this thing, including emulators. So now I can play SNES games with my PS5 controller linked up via bluetooth. It's great.

Better than Roku?
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have both a Chromecast 4k device (for one week) and a Google TV (two Months). Pleased with both, especially since I am a Google/Nest home with Android cellphones. Had Roku TV's and devices for years before making this switch. Here is the difference between Roku and Google TV devices. Google is faster with more customizable. Roku is stable and consistent. Kinda like the difference between iPhone/IOS and Android phones. Both are great just depends what you value the most. If you want an experience that is straight forward, a bit walled off and works consistently with no fuss go with Roku. If you want fast, deep integration with other platforms and the ability to fully customize your experience and willing to put up with some technical difficulties occasionally then go for Google TV.

Better than Firestick 4K
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Skip the Firestick, go straight for this. It is SOOO much more responsive than the Amazon offering. It took several seconds sometimes for my Firestick 4K to respond to a remote command. The Google TV responds almost quicker than you can click. The picture quality seems better too, somehow. And for the same price? No contest. Bluetooth connecting with headphones is lightning fast on Google TV. The Firestick took several moments to recognize my headphones were powered on and connect to them. Not so with the Google TV. It connects immediately every time. There was no delay between the video and audio, either. The one thing I noticed that I didn't like is it does take a while to setup with the Google Home app. But you only have to do that once, so...

Simple to setup and use
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a tv with Roku built in and I opt to use my chromecast because I prefer the interface as well as having my google account attached. So if I’m away from the tv and come across something I want to watch later, I can add it to my google watchlist and it will be waiting for me on the Home Screen when I get home. The remote does enough and looks nice. (Roku remotes look like toys and I don’t like the loud clicky buttons) The Google tv app can be used as a remote for when you sit down and realize the remotes over on the other side of the room.

Chromecast and Android TV had a baby
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first dedicated streaming device. I thought about a Roku and the original Chromecast, but like the idea of having the Android TV experience. All, in all, I'm happy with the performance and picture quality. While Google TV links with some streaming sites (like Netflix), it doesn't with others (like MotorTrend). What that leaves me with is an incomplete previously watched list. Not a huge deal, but it sure would be nice. The Google TV doesn't care about which family member is using it. It seems like every app I go into wants to know who's watching. If that was set in Google TV, it could tell the sister sites who is watching. It would also be nice to select multiple users so you can get a combined playlist. Just sayn' I had a little issue with the CEC feature. I typically watch TV on my cable box and Google TV would try to (well did) take over the sound going to my soundbar. Very strange. Would I recommend this to a friend. Yes, although they would likely be a Google fanboy and good with electronics. That goes without saying for most streaming devices so Google TV isn't alone.

Good Product and priced right.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good product. Well priced. Aggregating content across your streaming services is worth it. Fast in performance, easy to switch between channels . Voice commands. Easy to setup and use. Switching off does not mean power off.

Switched from Roku and not turning back
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently switched to Google Chromecast with Google TV from the 2020 version of the Roku ultra and I must admit Google has done a great job with this new version of Chromecast. The UI is much more modern and intuitive very snappy and is a refreshing experience versus the age-old UI from Roku. I have been using Roku devices since their inception but am I'm fully ingrained within the Google ecosystem. I decided to make a switch once Roku pulled YouTube TV and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The Google Assistant integration is excellent the picture quality is much better than what the Roku ultra was providing with Dolby vision turned on. If you make the switch from Roku I am sure you will be just as happy as I am!

Highly recommended product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Chromecast device is awesome. It's easy to set up and learn how to use. The interface is super easy to navigate. So easy, in fact, that I eventually want to purchase another unit, and would gladly buy it as a gift.

The best option for streaming!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are my preferred method of streaming media to the TV's in my house. I have these fitted in every room, and it makes streaming content an absolute breeze. The remote is great, my kids are able to navigate to their content easily. I typically cast from my phone, but both options are fantastic. The option to program the remote to also work on the TV itself as well as a soundbar leaves me with no complaints what so ever.

Absolutely PERFECT!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The BEST that money can buy! I bought this for many reasons: old Smart TV could no longer be updated, added to the Google Smart Home and price. It’s fast, easy to use... the list can go on and on. DEFINITELY worth investing!

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has made our tv viewing so much easier! It’s fast, easy to use and the remote is a perfect fit for my hand. I still can’t tell if the plug has to be plugged in all the time. That wasn’t very clear.

No more Samsung Tizen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this to use instead of our Samsung Smart TV "Tizen" interface. Much faster and smoother than the Samsung UI and it makes it easier/faster to get to the shows we want to watch.
