set up was simple and fast, kid friendly remote. very small not to big and bulky. no tools required to set up.

The remote is (or was) nice, and the picture quality is great. I think this would be a good product for some people. But there were a few fatal flaws that have pushed me towards replacing this with a shield tv pro. The main detractor for me is the software side. Performance is not as good as I would expect. Reboots are slow, and navigation is frequently laggy. The Plex app doesn't work well at all, especially for 4k HDR content. There are some chromecast-only bugs that can distort video and/or crash the whole system, which seem to be due to the device's video playback API. I frequently found myself waiting for it to chug through some lag before I could get to what I wanted to watch. I'm also not a fan of the Google tv interface overall. It's not very customizable, and the focus is always on "recommend" content, which you may or may not have access to. Android tv, in contrast, allows you to build your own home screen with the content you want to see. With CCwGT, you better hope you will like the recommendations, because they will dominate your experience of the user interface. The remote is very ergonomic and nice to use, but after only a few months the "up" button is wearing out and requires a lot more force to press. It's also very easy to lose... But while it was working fully I enjoyed using it. Overall, it's good for the price. But durability is questionable, considering the remote and the decrease in performance over time. And the user doesn't get as much control over the experience, compared to Android tv or even an apple tv 4k. It didn't quite meet my needs.

The remote makes a world of difference. The speed difference from the older Chromecasts to this one is night and day. So much better!

Google chromecast is fast and offers several optilms to consume media. You can cast almost any app from your phone. You can even screen mirror if the app doesnt support casting. It also has standalone apps on the chromecast itself. All of your favorites are here from netflix to youtube. The proce is extremely attractove as well for a 4k streaming device.

Excellent interface and performance. Ties chromecast abilities with great streaming. Better than firestick cheaper than shield..

This is definitely a must have - over Roku and Amazon - if you’ve embraced the Google Ecosystem. The layout is perfect and easy to navigate. The remote control is amazing. Definitely worth the money and time to set up.

Easy to use, fast and probably the best streaming device I've ever purchased. I'm extremely happy with this Chromecast. A must buy!

I own both the Apple 4K ATV (latest version with the Siri Remote)and the Chromecast with Google TV 4K. Save yourself the extra $ and get the Chromecast (which also has the Apple TV app among many other apps). Excellent device and no difference from the much much more expensive Apple. In some ways Chromecast is even better. YOU TUBE HDR videos (from the YOU TUBE app)play in HDR on the Chromecast but not on the Apple 4K ATV. Stick with the Chromecast with Google TV 4K.

The device is very good and easy to install and works well. Love the remote with push to talk features.

All I can say is, “Well, that was easy!” It was easy to set up, and easy to operate. It’s so much better than my old Chromecast.

This thing is awesome! It is also a Chromecast too! It is so great how, once you take what feels like forever to sink up all your services and apps, that everything you use is in one GIANT menu. Sometimes it takes me 30 minutes just to scroll through it. Only streaming stick you need! I am getting another one for upstairs too. Only weird part is the services that show up in your menu that you don't have, like I don't have Hulu, but there it is? All in all, high recommendation, as I understand nothing is perfect.

Bought this as a cheaper alternative to the Apple TV box. It obviously doesn't have access to the Apple App Store and the system UI isn't as clean as the Apple TV, but I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the menu runs. And in comparison to the regular Chromecast w/o Google TV, having this menu, voice control, and access to the Google Play Store are nice touches.

We have a samsung tv. It was slowing down. Plugged this in and made it much faster thanks to recpmmmdations of a few co workers. Grandma found a french tv ahow that wasnt reqlly available xfinity wise so that was also a plus!

I really like this product. The remote feels really nice. The button layout is a little weird to me, but I got used to it. I like how all the recommended shows are from different apps so it really gives you a variety. I also like how the remote can control the on/off and volume status of the tv itself. However, it can also control my other tv, so take that however you want. I never knew how helpful google assistant could be on a tv. If you have a lot of smart home stuff I would greatly recommend this.

Better then the other Chromecast device. Works like a charm. The speed is fast and customizable. Love to controller for this device!

Love my Chromecast!!! I recommend the Chromecast over other simular products. Easy to use and superb picture quality.

Excellent so far. I've replaced my rokus with these. Faster, cleaner and more options. Can view nest security cameras on the Chromecast. Youtube TV works so well with this. All google assistant options are available by remote or voice. I linked home speakers groups and can play music thru sound bar. I've synced PS4 controller and playing games on this. The price is great especially with the options given.

Easy to use. I would only change not syncing to the surround sound. The up/down from some reason goes to the max - or when turning on we use the surround sound remote to reduce the volume. I'm not sure if it is the remote or the surround sound that defaults to 100 volume. Other than that plenty of apps, some basic free channels, and when an upgrade comes we can easily switch out vs a build in wifi for a projector.

Huge upgrade from Chromecast systems of the past. I got this because the built-in Samsung AI on SmartTV i got for my mother-in-law was very confusing for her to navigate. Now with the addition of a remote, she seamlessly and clearly is able to navigate through her commonly used apps and sometimes even uses the voice feature when searching on YouTube. The old TV remote is obsolete as this Chromecast Remote also controls volume and inputs. Great purchase has fortified my position as favorite son-in-law.
