I have a mixed household as we use both Chromecast and Amazon Fire products. I have been very pleased by the updated Chromecast with Google TV and have been using it primarily on my TV. No lag, Loads and responds quickly.
None of the issues I've been having lately with our Fire products. Strongly recommend

The only complaint I have is that doesn't support the Charter Spectrum Tv app out of the box. You have to cast the app from your phone while with the Roku Devices and the Nvidia Shield Devices you were able to install it to those devices.
My wife loves it she found it easy to use and she loves the suggestions on the home screen as what to watch next along with telling her where to watch it. She also loves that it tells her when her tv shows air their next episode as well.

I bought the original Chromecast and Chromecast deluxe when they came out. I wish I had saved my money and waited for this. Google finally has a workable product that doesn't rely on a smart phone. Performance is good. It supports a bunch of formats including HDR and Dolbyvision. The suggestions functionality is so-so and for some reason Google TV doesn't seem to track Netflix and Hulu last viewed programs. Still a very good product at this price point considering the prices for Roku Ultra or Apple TV+. There have been some 4K audio issues reported on other TVs but I haven't had any problems with my LG OLED.

Easy to set up and use. Designated buttons for apps (YouTube and Netflix) are very convenient. It would be nice to be able to choose what apps can be reached with a press of a button instead of having them preset for me, but that's more a suggestion/hope for future models than a complaint on this one.

Add Smarts To An Old TV

Adding this device to an older TV that came with just a few built-in apps turns it into a smart TV on par with the latest models. Streaming from a variety of sources is possible and apps can be added from the Google Play store. Our house is in a fringe TV area, so I added the LoCast app, and this allowed a TV that couldn't be connected to an outside antenna to access all local channels in addition to streaming content and content sent from a laptop via Chromecast.

Received the Chromecast TV 4k yesterday. Purchased, because I had not used my older Chromecast much and wanted to see how this compared to my current 4k Roku. Easy Google setup and added Play Store apps. As an ATT fiber customer, I was able to add HBO max for free. The HBO max app is not compatible (right now) with Roku. Once set up, the interface was faster than the Roku and the remote worked well. This is now my default device and the Roku is now regulated to backup.
