I bought this because of the remote and how easy it is to use without having to cast from my phone as all the apps I use are included in the chromecast.

Google Assistant using the remote is so helpful. I have connected all my devices and it works great.

I was looking for a streaming box to replace a FireTV. The FireTV had issues loading Disney+ and couldn’t get HBO Max. For the price I decided to give this a try. Out of the box, it was horrible. It had a horrible time connecting to my router. It couldn’t find the internet, no matter if I used the 5ghz or 2.4ghz network. I tried setup on the Chromecast itself and setup through the Google Home app with the same error each time. I finally hot spotted my phone so it could download the firmware update. After getting through menus, it found my network, but WiFi seems spotty. It will tell me there’s no internet, but when I Speedtest through an app on the Chromecast, it says I’m getting 400mbps download and 200mbps upload. I’m thinking I have a faulty unit or the unit is not WiFi 6 compatible. When I turn off the ax feature of my router, the unit responds better, although it still drops WiFi signal. My next problem, some apps run great, others not so much. I’ve never had a problem with Amazon Video or Hulu but Disney+ just spins and HBO Max will sometimes not load. HBO Max will go into an infinite loop like it’s loading, then not, then loading. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling apps and it still acts the same. I do like the small remote. I like it better than the Siri remote with the Apple TV. That’s about the only positive I can say about the unit at this point. I’m thinking I’m going to return it, and try and get another one. If I run into the same problems, I’m going to buy another Apple TV instead.

I love Chromecast with Google TV (4K). One criticism that I have is that the controller is so smooth and small that we keep dropping it. I don't like using voice commands and need the control to do everything. Otherwise, Chromecast with Google TV is well worth the $. I originally bought the device to speed loading of streamed programming. It is way faster that the built-in streaming in the TV.

What an improvement from previous model... having a remote it's so much more convenient

I installed this on my television that already has embedded Roku, due to limitations on streaming services carried by Roku along with the tendency of the Roku tv to lose its Wi-fi connection regularly. I've been really happy with the Chromecast device. The resolution appears better than the Roku on the streaming services, and it's always maintained a solid connection to my 5 Ghz Wi-fi network. I've already added a second one for the main bedroom tv.

This device is better than FireTV or Apple TV. Easy to use, price is resonable.
