This Chromecast has Android TV built into it. I've bought a couple of these since I can just place them anywhere around my house, or I'll take them with me because it's so small and easy to connect to other tv's, like at a hotel. You can even install a VPN on this, so it's perfect to stream just about anything.

My setup has included a Roku Ultra and a Chromecast, but now I don't know that I need both of them. I so far haven't found any app on Roku that I use that isn't on the Chromecast. This isn't as quick and responsive as my Roku, but it isn't too much a difference. Overall I have been very happy with this upgrade to my system. I notice that I use the Roku less and less now that I have it so time will tell if it just replaces that as well.

It has faster processing compare to my Samsung 4K Q8FN, you can also search movies and it will tell you where to watch. I wish they gave volume control on the top not on the side. under $50. you can't beat this.

Chromecast with Google TV (4K) works with most monitors and TVs having an HDMI port. To ensure compatibility, we recommend checking if your current setup meets the following requirements for the best experience when using Chromecast:
- A mobile phone or tablet running Android 6.0 or later, or iPhone or iPad with iOS 12.0 or later version.
- An active Gmail account. You may encounter issues using a G-Suite account.
- Ensure that you have an updated version of the Google Home app.
- A high speed Internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. Mobile hotspots and Captive portal networks are not compatible with Chromecast devices.
- A strong Wi-Fi network connection.
- A TV with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3 or higher built-in. HDCP 2.2 is required to support 4K content. Most televisions that are five years old or newer and have HDMI ports will have at least one port that supports HDCP 2.2.
- Your mobile device and Chromecast device should be within 15 feet (4 meters) of each other. The Chromecast or TV with Chromecast built-in should be 15 feet (4 meters) away from the router, or less.
- Make sure both your Chromecast device and mobile device are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network channel, either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.
