When the Chromecast is not being used, it can quietly keep you entertained. You can choose from your favorite albums in Google Photos, enjoy the art gallery, or select from a variety of content from Facebook or Flickr to show while the device is idle. You must be signed in to their Google Account in order to set up and configure Ambient Mode.
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap the Chromecast device.
- At the top right, tap Settings.
- Scroll down, then tap Ambient Mode.

All apps in one place. This is the best idea ever. Would buy more if i had more TVs. Love the voice command. Can search up a movie or tv show in an instant. And if you do not have the app it asked if you want to download it. Amazing! User friendly and easy to set up.

We have a Samsung 6 series and have been using the native apps without much issue, but found the Samsung interface kind of awful and hated turning it on to their weird network/tv shows every time. The HBO app was super buggy as well, frequently not playing audio at all. This has solved all of our issues and is a joy to use! Bonus: you can sync the screensaver to your Google Photos account! Our toddler loves looking at family photos on the big screen.
