This Chromecast has Android TV built into it. I've bought a couple of these since I can just place them anywhere around my house, or I'll take them with me because it's so small and easy to connect to other tv's, like at a hotel. You can even install a VPN on this, so it's perfect to stream just about anything.

Miles ahead of its predecessor

And without a doubt a vast improvement from the previous version. Not only is this noticeably faster in terms on buffering, but the fact that they made the brilliant move to pair a matching remote is sensible, to say the least. And they went a step further to pre-program the remote with one-touch buttons for the most frequently used apps so you don't have to go to the menu or home page. Instead, it's a quick launch option, much like Roku has on their systems. I really do love this. And of course, it's portable so you can easily move it from one unit to another should you need or choose to do so.

It is a little more expensive than many, but that's to be expected from Google. The menu is intuitive and very easy to use. Remote seems to lag a little from time to time. Unsure if this is common or environmental with other devices surrounding it. It does default to 1080 for some apps such as Vudu, but if you're already in the Google Ecosystem it's a good buy.

Thanks for letting us know of the lag issue you have using the Voice Remote for your Chromecast with Google TV.
Your Chromecast with Google TV lets you watch movies and TV shows in 4K Ultra HD and 4K HDR content with your favorite streaming services. We recommend checking if your set up has the following items to ensure that you´re viewing on the highest resolution:
- An HDMI port that supports both HDCP 2.2 and 60 frames per second (60 FPS). Note: If you're using an AVR or soundbar, those will also need to support HDCP 2.2.
- A high-speed internet connection of at least 20 Mbps.
- A high speed HDMI cable. Recommended length: Less than 6 ft. (1.8m)
- Use only the power supply that was provided with your Chromecast with Google TV or Chromecast Ultra.
