Can't find much downside to this purchase except I don't know what will happen if the remote (included) goes south.

I have been using chromecast since day 1 and have upgraded to each release. I did use a Roku in my bedroom just for the remote.... No more. This thing is perfect.

App support is deep and the menu ties all of the services together into one interface. This eliminated my old Chromecast and Roku into one device!

I own a Sony TV which has Android TV built in. And this product has such better features with the new updates so I use this vs the TV.

Google TV built in and google assistant working out of the box is nice. I wish, they allowed Google Chrome browser as a valid app to Chromecast. It would have provided a way to directly use TV as a browser.

I have an older chromecast and an apple TV and this competes well with the Apple TV 4k if you need something that is over the Wi-Fi. Be aware that you can not power this through the TV USB port!!!!

I think I definitely prefer this over roku or apple tv. Very nice having a remote with a mic so the excellent google assistant is always available on my TV.

However when using on my 4k tv, there was jitter in the picture. I tried every option I could figure out; both in the settings and on the TV (mine is a Samsung 7000 series). If I could get this issue figured out, I would keep it and make it a 4.5 out of 5 which is a good review! However with issue it is a 2/5 and will be a return. Keep in mind that I have the chromecast ultra that works flawlessly on the same tv so I must be missing something or got a defective product

Jittery issues with your Chromecast with Google TV may be related to a few factors other than your Chromecast device. We recommend trying out some steps below that might be helpful in resolving the issue:
- Toggle Wi-Fi off/on your phone.
- Exit any battery-draining applications that are running on the background.
- Turn off power saving mode on your device.
- Decrease the distance between the TV, casting device (phone/tablet/computer), and Wi-Fi router. The distance should be less than 15-20 feet (5-6 meters) apart, ideally within the same room.
- Keep your phone’s operating system up to date.
- Unplug both the Chromecast and the router from the power outlet and leave it for at least 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, plug it back in, and wait for it to completely reboot.

Works awesome. Works great with YouTube TV, Netflix, Prime, Disney, and Hulu. I purchased 2 for these. Love love love it.
