Meanwhile, A range issue or wireless interference can cause your Chromecast to have performance issues. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the Chromecast and your router as these items could block the connection. We also suggest clearing the app cache that might help as having a sizable amount of cache stored, would affect its performance. Here’s how:
- From the Google TV home screen, in the top right, go to the user profile icon and select Settings.
- Select Apps and choose the app you're having trouble with.
- If you can't find it, select See all apps.
- Select Clear cache and then Ok.

I seem to have some issues with audio cutting out in the beginning of clips in youtube with my soundbar using optical audio that I don't have with a connected pc or smart tv app.

The volume buttons are hard to press, the interface is slow and the power button doesn't always communicate with the TV. After going into the settings I found there was a update waiting and that seems to have helped with the slow interface and slow syncing when casting from my phone, but I. Still not impressed. I'm not returning because it still makes sense to have this Chromecast, I just wish they offered a more powerful version for more money.
