I still end up having to cast from my phone, and even that doesnt work half the time (I have an up to date Pixel 5). The router I have (a google router) is about 2.5ft away and I have a 300Mbps internet connections. I can get whatever I want to run on my phone, so process of elimination leaves the Chromecast as being junk.

Unfortunately, Oculus is not officially compatible with Chromecast devices and it may or may not work. However, while using an Oculus device on a compatible Android phone, you may be able to mirror the phone's display to show at the same time on your Chromecast.
