If your device is randomly disconnecting from your Wi-Fi network, we recommend performing a factory reset. Here's how you can do it:
With the Chromecast Voice Remote:
- In the upper right of your TV screen, select your profile and then Settings .
- Select System and then About and then Factory Reset.
From the Chromecast device:
- While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV and powered, press and hold the button on the back of the Chromecast. The LED will start blinking yellow.
- When the LED light turns solid white, release the button and the Chromecast will then reset.

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love this device, the only thing my chromecast needed was a remote! unfortunately, this one also comes with buggy software, an iffy remote control, and a terrible interface. First, the chromecast bugs. Often I have to reboot my chromecast, probably once a month. This device simply crashes when I attempt to cast content, getting hung on the youtube or netflix launch screen but never loading. Many, many times I will directly click youtube or netflix only for the app to crash back to the launcher. The remote is also iffy. I have owned two of these chromecasts for about 5 months and have had to repair the remote to both of them multiple times. If you are not familiar with navigating a remote controlled device while the remote control isn't working, its not fun. Last, the interface. I like a clean, simple interface that shows you your apps and is snappy. This is a lag filled, ad ridden useless launcher that throws 15-20 little title screens at you of stuff you probably don't even own and have no access to watch. On the "Apps" tab? they are four rows down, underneath at least five ads, and a "top for you" section. Why are these in the "apps" section of the launcher? Why are the "search" and "for you" sections the same? why do I need a section for "movies" and "shows" when all the apps already separate that? Between the useless, cluttered and unusable slow interface, the constant crashing, the absolutely relentless Ads on the homescreen, and the constantly iffy remote, I would not buy these again.

Bugs and performance issues with Chromecast are mostly caused by a possible congestion in your network. For the best experience watching your favorite content, Chromecast typically requires a high-speed internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. You may verify this by removing some of the devices you have connected to your network and see if you will get a stable performance with Chromecast. Once you verify the issue is related to congestion, we recommend contacting your Internet service provider for a possible upgrade of your bandwidth.
