I was trying to replace my fire stick 4k with chromecast as most of my home automation is google based but I don't think I will be switching to chromecast anytime soon. I usually trust google UI but they made this one unnecessarily hard and made it look like a cheap copy of fire stick. I also noticed that Direct tv stream is not supported and since google wants to push their own live tv subscription and I can't not use my own subscription of Direct TV which I bundled with wireless. I am nothing but disappointed with google. I will just go back to fire stick.

My only complaint is the control is small. Hard for my big bear paws to press the buttons especially the volume buttons on the side. It’s kinda annoying! RAWR!!! Button too small!

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This product did not perform as advertised or as set up. product word well at first then after a few power off then power off as set up, it would not bring up the Google TV Home screen for the device I actually contacted the google agent folks to help get this up and running. Again works at first then fails. After a few uses, the Chromecast will power up the TV but give you a blank (black) screen. The casting fuction of this product works well. Everything else did not!

Seems more like a lame copy of Amazon's FireStick. Nothing new, unique or exclusive. No enhanced capabilities, no improved remote (the ChromeCast remote SUCKS!!!) Want a good streaming stick/device? Don't buy this one, it's just average.
