Hi Marksy, thanks for sharing your experience with us. We´re sorry to hear about your difficulty in setting up Chromecast, and that you´re unable to stream from the Movies box.

While the Movies box app isn't a cast-supported app on Chromecast with Google TV, you can still watch it on your TV by mirroring your Android mobile or tablet device using the Google Home app. Just follow these steps:
      - Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.
      - Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
      - Tap the device you want to cast your screen to.
      - Tap Cast my screen and then Cast screen.

Hi there, Scookie. Thank you for sharing your review on Chromecast with Google TV (4K). We're sorry to hear that your experience with the device has been less than ideal. With your Chromecast with Google TV (4K), you can watch video only at a resolution that both your TV and device are capable of. For example, if you use Chromecast with Google TV (4K) with a 1080p TV, you can watch video up to 1080p, but you won’t get video in 4K. Video resolution also depends on the content you’re streaming. If you decide to give the device another go and need any assistance with watching shows at an optimal resolution, please don't hesitate to contact us on our Google Help page here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp madebygoogle

Hi Aj04, thanks for bringing this up. We’re sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with your Chromecast with Google TV. It was designed to work with ease but we know it could be sometimes hard to set up.

We might want to check if your setup meets the minimum requirements for Chromecast to work:
      - An Android phone or tablet running Android 6.0 or later.
      - An active Gmail account. You may encounter issues using a G-Suite account.
      - An iPhone or iPad with iOS 12.0 or later version.
      - Ensure that you have an updated version of the Google Home app.
      - A high speed Internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. Mobile hotspots and Captive portal networks are not compatible with Chromecast devices.
      - A strong Wi-Fi network connection.
      - A TV with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3 or higher built-in. HDCP 2.2 is required to support 4K content. Most televisions that are five years old or newer and have HDMI ports will have at least one port that supports HDCP 2.2.
      - You may follow the set up guide for your Chromecast with Google TV here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/10109990

If your Chromecast with Google TV still doesn’t work, please reach out to our support team. We'll gladly help you with setting up your Chromecast here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/gethelp madebygoogle

Finally a chromecast with google tv. Unfortunately, it has a bug where it reverts to 1080p and has to be manually set back to 4k. It will only go up to 4k 30Hz which is also disappointing. Hopefully they work out the bugs soon.

      Hi TheDMan7,

We appreciate your feedback. We´re sorry to hear of the disappointing experience you have with the resolution of your Chromecast with Google TV.

Video resolution issues may be caused by a few factors other than your Chromecast with Google TV, and we recommend checking if you have the following points set up with your system:
      - Ensure your Chromecast has a strong Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
      - We recommend a high-speed internet connection of at least 20 Mbps.
      - An High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) port that supports both High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 2.2 and 60 frames per second (60 FPS).
      - A high speed HDMI cable when an Audio/Video Receiver (AVR) is part of the environment.
      - Use only the power supply that was provided with your Chromecast.

Our goal with Chromecast with Google TV is to provide you with the best viewing experience watching your favorite movies and TV shows in 4K Ultra HD and 4K HDR through your preferred streaming services. Should you still face the same issue, we recommend reaching out to us to have a deeper look at it. We may need to figure out what's causing the problem in order for us to find a resolution. Its blows compared to the seamlessness of previous models, has horrible integration with the Google nest and honestly tries way to hard to be an Apple or Roku TV, would’ve been cool 6 years ago when Smart TVs we’re at a premium. Now it just comes off as an annoying way to stream stuff to your TV forcing Google TV’s wack interface down your throat because it has 4K buy the Chromecast Ultra or wait till Google gets their act together.

First off, I don't understand where these 6 stars revies are coming from! The interface lags horribly and it freezes, I have been trying to find a good streaming device besides the Apple TV, Bought this thinking it would be better than Fire TV, not so much. At first it seems pretty cool, it pretty much sets itself up. After that it is all downhill. It seems that the longer it is on, the more the interface lags and the more the apps pause and lag and eventually the whole thing will freeze and require a reboot. The process starts over. Trying to watch a movie on HBO Now and it constantly buffered. I thought it was my Internet connection. Next day tried to watch another movie on HBO and it completely froze. After power-cycling the device, it seemed to work OK. About an hour and a half into the movie, it starting buffering over and over, about every 5 minutes. Started another movie on HBO immediately after the first and by the halfway point it was buffering every 30 seconds. I got out my computer, it worked fine and speed tests were indicating good Internet speeds with no packet loss. On my computer in the same room, I could stream just fine. Exiting the HBO app on the Chrome Cast, I noticed the interface was very laggy. Power-cycled the device again and it was perfect again. Next evening tried to stream on Disney Plus and same thing. As the movie progressed, the buffering got worse and worse. Power0cycling the device again fixed the problem for a while. Biggest piece of junk streaming device of the bunch. Do yourself a favor, just get an Apple TV. If you don't want an Apple, any of the others would be a better choice than this thing.

Hi JAHinAL, we appreciate your feedback on Chromecast with Google TV. We apologize for any disappointment you may be having with the connectivity loss when casting your Oculus device.

For the best experience when casting using Chromecast with Google TV, we recommend ensuring that your current setup meets the following requirements:
      - A mobile phone or tablet running Android 6.0 or later, or iPhone or iPad with iOS 12.0 or later version.
      - An active Gmail account. You may encounter issues using a G-Suite account.
      - Ensure that you have an updated version of the Google Home app.
      - A high speed Internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. Mobile hotspots and Captive portal networks are not compatible with Chromecast devices.
      - A TV with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3 or higher built-in. HDCP 2.2 is required to support 4K content. Most televisions that are five years old or newer and have HDMI ports will have at least one port that supports HDCP 2.2.
      - Make sure both your Chromecast device and mobile device are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network channel, either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.

If none of the steps fix the issue, please reach out to our support team for further troubleshooting and isolation here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/gethelp madebygoogle
