    This could be more a criticism of Google Pixel 6A rather than a criticism of Chromecast. The display lagged considerably and made interaction on the big screen arduous and error-prone

    Not Compatible with my TV

    It’s basically unusable because aside from Google Play, all other movie apps display the movies with constant stuttering. The movies are unwatchable on other apps. I tried multiple times to adjust it but nothing worked. I only purchased this because it has Dolby Vision. What a disappointment.

      We suggest trying these steps that might improve the connection and performance of your Chromecast:

      - If you have a dual band router, try setting up your Chromecast on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more stable.
      - Check for possible congestion with your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices may relieve network congestion.
      - Check for possible interference as thick walls and other devices in your home may weaken Wi-Fi signals.
      - Bring your Chromecast closer to your router to get better signal reception.
      - Restart your Chromecast and your Wi-Fi router. Unplugged the devices from the power outlet. Leave them unplugged for at least a minute before plugging them back in.

    Is mostly stereo. Even atmos trailers show input as stereo to my receiver. i got it to out put 5.1 once and the next day it was back to stereo with atmos media. Google failed on this product.

For you to enjoy true Dolby Atmos surround, you would need to ensure that the TV, audio receiver and the actual content are capable of Dolby Atmos surround. We advise to check the format of the video content you are attempting to watch. There are some 4K video contents that use 5.1 surround sound. And there are also videos that are true Dolby Atmos surround. The Chromecast with Google TV is capable of handling Dolby Atmos surround sound but it will adapt to whatever audio format the content has.

    Died in under 2 years

    Not used very much. Died just under 2 years with minimal use. Warranty is only 1 year. Avoid unless you like buyng disposable devices that don't last.

      As a quick fix, you may try resetting both Chromecast and Voice Remote. Here's how:
      To reset the Chromecast:
      1. Go to Settings.
      2. Select System.
      3. Select About.
      4. Select Factory reset (this is the third option on the About screen).
      5. Select Factory reset again, then Erase everything to confirm.
      To reset the Voice Remote:
      1. Check that the batteries in the remote have remaining charges.
      2. Remove the batteries from the remote.
      3. Press and hold the Home button Voice remote home button.
      4. While holding the button, reinsert the batteries.
      5. Hold the button while the LED light is solid.
      6. When the light starts pulsing, release the button.

    Not smooth and cheap remote

    The streaming of Hulu and Netflix is choppy. Have a roku in the same spot so it’s not the distance from my WiFi router. Also the remote seems cheap and flimsy. One good drop on the ground and that remote is cracked and done! Retuned the device shortly after getting it and got a newer roku.

    Get a roku instead

    Apparently chromecast was not compatible with my tv or any “old” tv and would turn off my tv and never play anything. I recommend just getting a roku its 10 times better.

    Broke right off the bat.

    When I 1st set it up it was acting strange for my picture quality. After the software update still acted the same. Such a shame, had to return it only used it one day. At least it broke right way and not after the 2 weeks return period.

      Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow that might be helpful in resolving the issue:
      - Ensure that your Chromecast is connected to your 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.
      - Remove other connected devices on your Wi-Fi network and see if you will still encounter the same issue. Should you verify congestion, then we recommend contacting your internet service provider for resolution.
      - We recommend a Wi-Fi network with 25 Mbps download speed that can ensure you have enough bandwidth and get a smooth viewing experience.
      - If it does not work, you may try restarting your Chromecast by going to Settings > System > Restart.
      - If it's still unresolved, perform a factory reset on the Chromecast with Google TV.
      a. While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV, hold down the button on the Chromecast device for at least 25 seconds or until the solid LED light turns into a flashing red light.
      b. Once the LED light turns blinking white and the TV goes blank, release the button. The Chromecast device will begin the reboot sequence.
