    Would not allow me to get certain standard apps that Roku does permit.

      While YouTube and YouTube TV will be signed in to your Google account, for other apps, you will likely have to sign in. Check this step by step guide on how to link your subscription services with your Chromecast with Google TV.

      The Wi-Fi disconnection issue may be related either of the following issues:
      - Possible congestion in your network. Chromecast requires a high speed Internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. Removing some of your connected devices may help free up some bandwidth space.
      - Signal interference caused by the thick walls of your home, electrical appliances, or opposing Wi-Fi signal from your neighbors network. Placing your Chromecast with Google TV in a straight line of sight with your router may improve connectivity.

    I love the chrome cast plug in. All my streaming channels in one place and options for others easily accessible. The picture quality is excellent. Set up is easy. It comes with news for local stations and I also bought an antenna for current shows on locals. (Like tonight show or AGT) so I will be getting rid of cable now.

    Roku is much simpler to use. Not as snappy or polished as the Roku. Freezes at times. Apps are buggy. Especially the hulu app.

    Ads play on youtube and youtube kids even with a premium account. Known issue i guess. Remote goes unresponsive and needs to be reset. Sluggish interface. Riddled with ads for services i dont want. Dont bother. Get a roku or splurge on an apple tv. The enclosed power adapter is terrible and protrudes from the wall straight out. What an eyesore.

    Great Device

    So here is the deal, I have a Chromecast, Roku, Firestick, and an Apple TV. In the past, I have gone the route of Roku based on the design and the options it offers. Love the Roku stick with the control it has. Google's Chromecast has always been my backup to anything Roku can't do since the simplicity of Google makes it very nice. The New product is fantastic and competes with Roku on every level. The interface could use some more simplicity but when you talk about features it goes head to head: Integration with the existing stereo system is flawless, it detects different controls and the current system and pairs them with the control. The search actually goes into the apps integrated with Google (key here is integrated) and finds the content you want to see on voice command. The search is integrated with an assistant so I don't have type forever whenever I am searching. While Roku has this, it forces you back into the main screen and doesn't really sync with your apps as Google does. It supports other apps like Plex which can be installed and has many more integration options with other apps that the Roku ecosystem doesn't have. I am the plus side if you ever need to cast something that's not in the store you can simply use the native Chromecast to switch the content on the display. If you are a Googler the native integration with Google Nest Audio is pretty sweet. still learning to use that but it can pair to Nest Audio speakers. It's still a roughly nice size and not too bulky for these tight areas where you want to hide it. The only downside is that it can't be powered by all USB ports. My current projector could not power it through USB since the port didn't produce enough power so keep that in mind. Overall because of the Casting natively built-in I am looking to converting my TV's over to this interface by buying a Chromecast with Google TV
