Made my older TV able to stream all kinds of shows and get available apps

The video quality was quite variable -- sometimes worse than an old VCR with blurry sections and pixelization. It improved somewhat when I disconnected every other WiFi device in my home, but that's a heck of a price to pay. You're thinking it was because my WiFi connection is slow, but in all conditions, the picture on my Roku (connected to the same source and watching the same shows on the same TV) was significantly sharper than what I saw on the Chromecast. The Chromecast's picture was particularly bad on YouTube TV where I saw not only quality issues, but frequent buffering with a black screen and spinning circle. Switching to the same show on the Roku always solved this. It's odd that two systems from the same company can't work together properly. My WiFi speed is typically around 15-20 Mbps, so if yours is much faster than that, you may not have the issues I did, but I suspect that you'll get a significantly clearer image on a Roku. I think the Chromecast has a bigger buffer and faster processor, but apparently has no idea how to use them properly. It's also easily confused. Having just finished the first season of a show, I came back later and used the voice command to play that same show. It started showing me episode 10 of the second season. Stuff like this happened fairly often. I really wanted to like this thing. The concept is excellent and it's very good at getting voice commands right. I love that you can ask it to play a show without knowing what app it's on, and the remote is very good once you get used to it (though it should be bigger -- it constantly felt like it was going to slip out of my hand and it often did). The problems are probably in the code rather than the hardware, so maybe they'll be fixed with an update. Unfortunately, my experience with Google is they release stuff, then never fix all the problems with them so I'm not holding my breath.

Chrome cast makes my old tv soo fast. Now i can easily stream anything—affordable price. I highly recommend it.

Great product, definitely a buy. Apple does really well with it's gadgets. Highly recommend.

This solves the biggest problems we all face with streaming hubs and all the apps we pump into them. Google just won the living room.

Easily the best steaming device I have used. It blows only of the Amazon devices out of the water.

This device is adds considerable value to its Chrome Stick predecessor. We are allowed to select our favorite streaming apps to add to our main-screen menu which aggregates all viewing options for quicker selection. the remote controls some tv features, but there is no option to control volume of connected sound system. All in all, it is a valuable addition to our “cut-the-cable” viewing.

I was torn between this and buying another fire stick. I ended up getting this because it supports 4K and has hbomax. I’ve been wanting to try it but I haven’t been able to find it on any other streaming devices. The downsides so far include, not having the ability to install a basic browser (which I could do on my fire stick) and the buttons on the remote are very sensitive. This probably isn’t a con for everyone. I just like to keep the remote in my bed. I’ll be watching something and my arm will nudge the remote and my show will stop. Overall decent. The hbo max support makes it worth it over the fire stick.

Best streaming device by a millions miles. Crazy easy to setup and discover content.

We had a google chromecast before, but it was difficult to access. Our TV is older, but in my opinion is still new enough. Once we got this little dream it changed our entire TV watching experience. We have all our streaming services together, and best yet you can use the voice option to search for a movie. If you have multiple streaming services you subscribe to, this is an amazing feature.

Easy to use, and lots of streaming channels. No setup is needed. Just need wifi

All shows seam 4K even if your TV is not a 4K or a smart TV.

This streamer check all the boxes, I think is the best right now.

A bit disappointing. Could not program power button! But remote is easier to handle with sideclick attached.
