Since I am older this was so easy to hook up!! Love it

One of the best purchases I have ever made. I can see all my apps, continue watching, and watchlist all in one space. It's really cut down on my time need to jump from app to app to find something to watch. There are apps which are not synced but a majority is and I'm sure eventually everyone will get on board.

An excellent all around streaming device perfect for watching shows, movies, or consuming media.

Still one of the best products to date that i own from google. i have one for one of my tvs at the house and i just bought another one for the tv at my shop since Spectrum and Disney cant get it together.

Having a remote is nice. The tv menu is great, but those don't make up for lack of performance. You may not notice if it's your first Chromecast, but I'm switching back to my previous version. Cons: 1. On my previous Chromecast, 3rd gen, Ambient mode was always on when I changed the HDMI input. The new one turns off so when you change input, there is nothing there until you push the remote button. 2. Doesn't play nice with Echo mini. "Hey Google, play music from Spotify" - takes much longer, doesn't always react, doesn't always switch input. 3. The remote buttons are sensitive, meaning I needed to put it in my pocket a few times and I'm hitting buttons as I walk. (not a huge deal) 4. Voice input on the remote doesn't always open the selection I need 5. Casting from the phone is spotty I feel like Google needs a major software update.

can make about any old hd tv you have look brand new ! also can connect to surround systems/stereos which makes it cheaper than buying a sound bar or home theater system !

Does everything I need it to and more, I have one for every TV in my house and been using them for 4+ have no complaints

I got a hold of a prototype snd it beats my Roku ultra.

Great for Netflix, as it offers 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos support. But doesn't support 4K in Vudu, no Atmos in Disney+, and a good chance it won't support HBO Max in 4K HDR and Atmos. Really wanted to like this, but with all products from Google, ended up being disappointed.

The Chromecast aggregates content from many apps onto the same screen, which is one of the main reasons I was interested in this device. It does that pretty well, but there are significant issues. It attempts to provide a "continue watching" list that is supposed to allow you to continue recently watched shows from various apps. Unfortunately, it's very buggy. Most shows from most apps simply don't show up. Some show up on my phone app, but not on the Chromecast and others show up on the Chromecast and not the phone app. I never use the phone app to watch anything, so these should all be showing up on Chromecast list. Not having a functioning "continue watching" really dimmenishes the device's potential. This is not the only major bug. Sometimes there is no audio after opening a new app. Restarting the device temporarily fixes the problem, but it reoccurs. It supports surround sound (Dolby Digital, Atmos) for most apps, but does not support surround sound from Hulu or Peacock. So if you use Hulu or Peacock and have a surround sound set up, you might prefer the Roku or Fire Stick. Hopefully, the problems with the device will eventually be fixed with software updates. Until then, I can't recommend this device.

Purchased this in December 2021 along with a Google Speaker to replace Roku device. Reason for replacement was due to possibility of removal of YouTube from Roku at that time due to their contracts. Anyways since the time of purchase and use over the past year has been nothing but a hassle. The device performs as advertised and reliable streaming. However my biggest complaint is simply the dominance Google places on the consumer. They force recommended content constantly and it is always on Home Screen and a hassle to navigate past to content your specifically want. I do not cate to see content specifically targeted for LBQT movies and shows, History Months (Women, Black, Hispanic) etc., content relating to Britain and the Queen, and the list goes on. You do not have any option to limit or remove this content that is always displayed on a large content frame on the Home Screen. Along with that is is a pain in area that sees little sun on your body to remove contents from continue watching. No matter what you do to remove it always returns. If you manage your data on Google and delete your data there, guess what...... Your continue watching list on Chromecast Home Screen rejuvenates itself and you have a huge list of shows on continue watching. With the autoplay feature on some streaming services this always onto Home Screen on Chromecast. Another issue is the Home Screen, first the screensaver option never works. You can supposedly customize it with your own images however this never works. Google constantly overrides your content with what they want you to see on a screensaver. Next..... added content happens again. Now I got tabs for Kids and Espanol content. I have no children nor am I interested in Espanola content. There is no option to remove these tabs. Too much aggravation for such a simple task. Steam content related to the consumer. Google forcible pushes content that you possibly not interested in towards you and so forth. I've had it with this garbage and it is landfill bound along the smart speaker that is nothing more than feces. Forced content on music and recommendations there as well.

No regrets on purchasing this. Great product, definitely recommend.

All the things this device does is amazing. I've used it almost everyday since I got it. It works so well with android devices. I highly recommend it.

My mom had recently bought a google Chromecast. While i was installing it i was trying to use the button like volume control etc they wont work but only with other tv then the living room tv it is a proscan tv and its non amart but i dont understand why it wont work with the tv. Please help

Overall, hands down best streaming device I've used. The OS still needs work but that's up to developers of the streaming apps to add better functionality. Only thing google needs to do at the moment is allow stadia support! Why wasn't that baked in in the first place. Please add this soon.

This new Chromecast is snappy and easy to use. The setup was quick/easy and the remote flawlessly works in controlling my TV. Great video quality and a great upgrade to my older Chromecast.

Best $50 ever spent. I no longer click buttons on the remote except voice assistant. This is the best streaming device in comparison to Roku and FireTV. I have been using Roku for a very long time. Started using this device. Now going back to Roku feels like typewriter age or newspaper age. Everyone reading this review - THROW YOUR ROKU IN TRASH AND GET THIS AWESOME DEVICE
