Diminished usefulness

Now both the broadcasting device and Chromecast have to be on the same wi-fi network for casting to work. I purchased many of these to work with projectors in a school setting, where the wi-fi uses a captive portal, and Chromecasts cannot log into the network because it does not have a built-in browser.

Support from Google on its own product is non-existent. You end up relying on a chat blog and there are really no answers w/o researching for hours. Set-up is easy, the first time... try to figure out anything further in problems, you're on your own.
