Meanwhile, in the event the Voice Remote drops the Bluetooth connection again, we suggest to
- Remove then reinsert the batteries then check if the LED blinks.
- Unplug the USB-C connection from the Chromecast to disconnect it from the power source and reboot the device. Leave the Chromecast unplugged for one minute, then plug it back in.
- Perform a factory data reset (FDR) on the Voice Remote following the steps here:

Bought specifically to watch news on YouTube with wireless headsets. There appears to be a known problem (well documented in forums) in which newer Chromecast devices malfunction while using Bluetooth audio and Google's own YouTube app. When watching YouTube, the Bluetooth audio stutters, pops, and drops out. It also causes problems with video playback, the app and headsets. It somehow causes headsets to reboot and corrupts pairing to Chromecast. Google will not acknowledge the problem, blaming it on incompetent Android users. Therefore a fix can not be expected. Bluetooth audio works fine for HBO Max, Prime, Netflix, etc. so it appears this is a problem created by Google and denied by Google. I spent too many days troubleshooting (re-pairing BT, uninstalling YouTube, reinstalling, clearing cache, clearing data, etc.), believing Google that it was my incompetence and I alone should fix it, that the return window ran out. Well played Google.
