Great for TVs that do not have built in applications. Remote makes navigation easy and is a great upgrade from previous Chromecasts.

One of the best things I ever bought in my life WHEN IT WORKS. Smooth and responsive. My biggest gripe is that for a good six months, the remote would refuse to stay connected to the chromecast and I would literally have to manually click and hold the button to invoke a new bluetooth connection, and do the process of pairing the remote EVERYTIME the remote does not respond. The thing is, the remote remembers the infrared data for turning on the TV--so the TV turns on fine--but the chromecast itself is uncontrollable. I kept it unplugged and out of use for 5 days because I was moving places. When I plugged it back in, it hasn't presented this problem since. Other than that, it runs smoothly, the remote is designed well and has no distracting buttons. The UI is sometimes choppy if you rush it but much, much better than the UI that comes with TV's today.

I've been using Chromecasts for years and they have always performed well. All my old TV's now have Chromecasts to turn them into smart TVs. The one great thing I like about Chromecast is that you only need 5 watts to power it one. Whereas the Firestick, you need a separate power adaptor because it draws too much power, so you can't just plug it into the USB in your TV.
