The device works great and was so much cheaper than buying a new TV.

The best interface of any of the streaming boxes/sticks

Combines the various app(s) querying/streaming experience to the TV! Love the audible ability to search. Worth the $20 sale price. Remote turns TV on/off and does what it says, but on my Samsung, the input menu does not disappear when changed to HDMI...I have to use another remote to make that menu go away. Not a huge fan of the volume button placement. I had a movie playing and somehow got audio from another movie at the same time. A simple restart resolved it. Finally, my learning remote (URC RF20) was not able to learn any of the commands.

My wife and I use this with You Tube TV. We picked You Tube TV because it is the only cable-TV-like streaming service that has PBS. The interaction between the Google TV in the device and You Tube TV is extremely frustrating. We each have separate Google accounts, leading to separate Google TV profiles and separate You Tube TV profiles. The problem happens when you open the You Tube TV app from Google TV. Being a little more technical, I have most of the shows that we DVR in my You Tube TV profile. So, in the evening, we use my You Tube TV profile to watch some TV. Then, the next day my wife wants to watch some Hallmark love movies. She turns on the Chromecast with Google TV, it asks her to pick a profile, and she picks hers. She sees something she wants to watch and clicks on it. It goes into You Tube TV without asking for which You Tube TV profile to use, so she has this sense that since she picked her profile when she turned the thing on, that she is watching You Tube TV in her profile. The problem is that she is not. The You Tube TV app remembers which profile was used last, so she ends up watching her Hallmark movie in my You Tube TV profile. Now You Tube TV is recommending all sorts of gushy love movies to me. They really need to fix this by either A) have the Google TV profile automatically pass thru to You Tube TV, or B) have the You Tube TV app ask which profile to use every time it starts. I mean, how in the world is Google going to track my every move if it can't even keep me and my wife straight??????

Chromecast with Google TV makes it easy to access different programs.

This has been a game changer. We were able to get rid of our pricy cable bill and instead purchase apps and watch them from anywhere with this unit. It’s small, it saves the tv series and movies where I left off and allows me to save my favorites. Our tv’s are not smart tv’s, but act as though they are with this device.
