I like that Google is putting out budget models, but I don't understand why the 4K model can't be at this price point. Either way, I use this on a 1080p projector, so the 4K isn't an issue with me. This is the third Google Chromecast I own and they perform really well. I really like the remote and the audio search function (by holding the Google button on the top right). If you're in the Google ecosystem, setup is really simple as your setting are saved and easily transferrable among your different Chromecasts. The power cable is long enough, but I wish it were longer and thicker so I could run it through my wall (it would probably be fine to do so anyway). In terms of performance, it has some quirks. I haven't had any problems with this one yet because it's new, but like a computer, it does seem to slow down. So I've spent some time deleting old apps, and had to restart it a few times to correct some buffering/image artifacts that appear. Usually after a reset it fixes any issues, and luckily I don't have to do it all that often, so I chalk it up to a minor annoyance, but not something that is worrisome enough to not recommend it.

I honestly love the Chromecast with Google TV because it begins to learn about things you like to watch and recommends things you might actually enjoy watching. The thing is speedy and I like it more than the Roku and a few other's I've had in the past. The remote I felt like I was going to break everytime I held it when I first got it but I've gotten used to it and honestly it's not as bad as I first thought.. My wire who is NOT a tech person learned to use it quickly and other than to endure her choice of shows.. I bought a second one for a spare bedroom where I can go to watch my things and life is mostly wonderful.. hopefully this review helps if you're in the market for a new streaming device..

I have a 2022 GoogleTV in my living room and this Chromecasts is faster and less laggy than my TV. Amazing combo with my Basement Laser projector!

Very easy to set up. The only confusing part was the remote. It connects to the unit via bluetooth. Plenty of channels and you can stream just about any subscription.

This is a great device. Got rid of my Comcast box and stream Comcast to the tv using the Chromecast. Saved lots of money. I have 3 Chromecasts and they all work perfectly.

I like it a lot! This new product has multiple webpages where you can watch more programs. Easy to use use and very convenience with the remote control. Great product!

Great streaming device, I had the 1st and 2nd gen Chromecast which still works well for my casting, I preferred the Google tv user interface to the fire tv even though am used to the fire tv

The Chromecast HD is an incredibly simple yet powerful device. It instantly turned my regular TV into a smart one, and the setup couldn’t have been easier. The streaming speed is impressive everything runs so smoothly that watching movies and series becomes a real pleasure. Definitely worth it!

If you have an older Chromecast dongle like I did you will want to upgrade to this new one. It comes with a very handy remote control. You won't have to use your phone to watch your shows. I like the preset programs offered such as Plex and Pluto and there are many I have yet to explore. The Wi-Fi connection is superior with this version and I feel in complete control of my content.

So far, so good. Set up was easy and remote worked very well. Not sure about mirroring but haven't had a chance to test.

We usually buy a ton of firesticks around cyber monday and black friday. The amazon firesticks just dont last. So we decided to give the Chrome a shot. I like the set up and recommnedations without searching every app. I also like that you can just cast from your phone too. Give it a shot!

Already had the 4k version for use on an old TV at home. Got this HD one for traveling with. Was really easy to set up since I already had my passwords for streaming apps saved in my Google account on my Android phone. I docked a star because, just like the 4k version, you can't save previously used WiFi networks. This requires you to repeat the setup process when you change networks. Google really should fix this especially since my phone has these WiFi networks/passwords saved and you use your phone to perform the setup.

I'm more than surprised with it. Best way to watch my streamings, Soooo easy to connect to all my accounts. I just love it.

Worked perfectly the first time, easy install, very inexpensive universal remote solution. Had to search a bit to find the volume buttons on the side.

Great product from Google, the interface is decent to navigate through and it's cheap. The only problem that I have with it is certain issues like the volume icon staying on the screen even after resetting the system and the sensitive controls.
