Better than the built-in UI of many smart TVs

In fact, the interface and the app library are better than my two smart TVs. Highly recommend the HD version for a moderate wifi connection and the UHD (4k) version for high speed wifi.

Awkward Setup But Love the Voice Control
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This Chromecast product was a little stubborn at the setup stage for joining the wifi. A repeated error while trying to connect had suggested it was the Access Point settings on my router. I had never had any trouble connecting all kinds of other devices so I gave up. The next day I tried again and this time it connected with no trouble. The included USB power adapter must be used so you need to have an open outlet near the TV to connect it. The TV's own USB power is not enough. It works well and manages the ebb and flow of a meager 10Mbps connection well without buffering. The voice control is good since if you have multiple Google devices you are probably sick of them all trying to handle the request every time they hear "Hey Google." You can even whisper verrry quietly and it still follow your request. If you have added smart home devices to your Google Home account this works to control them too. It has the usual assortment of apps that are included on most TV devices now, lacking the ability to add any that aren't already available in the library. The Amazon products have it over this device in that respect. Not a costly toy. Just nothing earth-shaking as far as what you can do with it, especially since Google has already bailed on any more development of GoogleTV.

And, if you haven't tried yet, you can do more with Chromecast and your smart devices, like asking Google to set the temperature, dim the lights, or see who’s at the front door, using the Voice Remote, without getting up. You can also cast from thousands of compatible Android and iOS apps directly from your phone, laptop, or tablet, and mirror your Chrome browser tab to your TV. Great Upgrade for "Non-Smart" TV
