Boring not sure why i bought this what a waste of time

This has got to be the worst 4k bluray I've seen. Picture quality is grainy and unviewable. You are better off watching it on VHS. The included bluray plays fine and that is pretty much all you can get out of this purchase.

Old and dusty movie. Infantile screenplay. Do yourself two favors: save $30 and 2 hours of your time.

The voice of the actors was not in sync with the screen.

This is one of the best Alien movies you will find. They are not hear to kill people, they are not here to get in fights with Will Smith. This is a great movie for the simple fact that it is very true to life. Close Encounters shows the awe inspiring sequences that make Speilberg such a master behind the camera, he has the vision and the know how to carry out these shots and special FX even when the technology wasnt even out.

One of Spielberg's early classics about man's contact with aliens before E.T. on Blu Ray. This disc contains 3 versions: Original Theatrical Release, Special Edition and Director's Cut, with a feature that when activated tells you the difference between versions while watching the movie. There are no other Special Features, thus I had to take away 1 star. Picture and sound are otherwise great, and it was a great value.

After Jaws propelled Steven Spielberg to the A-list of directors, he followed it with this story involving a man (Richard Dreyfuss), who puts his family life into jeopardy after his encounter with UFO's leads to his obession (along with that of others who witnessed the same thing) to understand it. The movie is filled with memorable imagery and music. The climatic scene at Devil's Tower is rightfully famous.

I love this movie and this is a good transfer. Hard to be too harsh on it since it keeps film grain but there is a lot of it to see. Always love having the different versions and most (if not all) of the extras from previous editions.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed 'Close Encounters,' I just don't share the mass scale hype over it. Nevertheless, an impressive, but expensive dvd set here, but well worth it for fans of the movie.
