Very good 4k transfer..grainy which is to be expected. Sound is much improved of Blu ray release. If a fan you should enjoy this 4k version

I was 7 years old when Close Encounters was made. It captured my wonderment and amazement then and still does!! Steven Spielberg WAS the director of my youth. Its cool to finally have all 3 versions of the movie on one disc.

I was very excited to see this movie in 4K and for the most part doesn't disappoint. The dark scenes could be better, which there are alot of. But the print is great with great color and a good amount of grain. Recommended.

I'm rating this a 4 only because I am not a huge fan of the film. However, I am a HUGE fan of this Bets Buy steelbook as it's not only a limited edition of the 4K release, but it's also the real deal. There are 3 versions/cuts of this legendary sci-fi film on 4K Ultra HD in this set plus Blu-ray and Digital HD. The Digital HD files are UV and playable in 4K via the Sony apps on modern Sony 4K TV sets.

Although I already have a copy of Close Encounters I just couldn't resist getting the BestBuy Steelbook exclusive! And of course, I had to watch again too! Thanks BestBuy!

Watched it on my old HD tv with blu ray player . Incredible picture and sound. I also bought the 4K disc version so I can view it when I purchase a 4K tv and 4K player .

Classic movie and watching and hearing in 4k was amazing experience. I am so glad that the studios were able to preserve this classic movie so that we can experience in his resolution. Added bonus of blurry and digital as well.

You already know the movie, but the fact that you get each version at a scan of the original elements with great hdr makes this a steal

If you can remember when this movie first came out, and how Steven Speilberg single handedly made it exciting to walk into a movie theater, then you can appreciate how special it is to have such a great home version of this film.

nice to see that "friends from out of town" can send invitations on occasion instead of just abducting folks. excellent wring and performances by all. highly recommend.

This classic in 4K is an absolute must see. The sound and colors bring this awesome movie to a totally different level. The enhanced colors pop and theater sound in different scenes truly make this a great buy!!

One of my all-time favorite movies now looks even greater thanks to the 4K restoration which really shines during the grander scenes that I won’t spoil here! All the 40th anniversary extras on this steelbook edition too.

If you're not on 4K, this is the version to get. All 3 cuts of the movie, fresh 4K transfer as the source, and some new special features in addition to those on previous Blu-ray releases. Also better for your shelf.

The 40th Anniversary of this classic movie includes three cuts of the movie. When I downloaded the digital copy for it to my Movies Anywhere Account, it included three cuts of the movie. I highly recommend this product.

This is good movie. Nice that it has the three movies, theather, special, directors cut, both on blu ray and 4k hd. I will say I am not seeing too much different between 4k and regular blu ray. Maybe it is setting on my TV. But do know based on how 4k is done. It will affect how movie looks. This is what I have read about. Would tell you to get the movie if you are a fan of it!

I WATCHED THIS MOVIE A LOT OF TIMES GLAD TO HAVE IT IN 4K. SHOULD BE GOOD ALSO IN 4K. THE REVIEW SAID THAT IT HAD SOME GRAIN BUT NOT A LOT,PLUS IT WAS ON SALE.

I forgot how great this film is. In 4k with HDR this film can be viewed at home like never before. It's a must have, with all 3 versions of the film as well.

This is one of my top 10 movies. I remember it as a kid so maybe memory of it keeps it in that rating. That being said, I picked it up at a great price and in 4k looks good.
