Range will vary depending on terrain, obstructions, power settings, interference from other users, atmospheric noise and battery level. Note that channels 1-7 & 15-22 allow for maximum power. I couldn't talk to the car behind or ahead of me, much less one 35 miles away. I'm completely disappointed and returning them promptly. I'm going to try Motorola's next.
