The movie starts out Erie and compelling. The acting is good, the production is good. Pretty quickly around the half way point things start getting weird and only get crazier. It’s a wild ride from start to finish and I absolutely enjoyed it. You do need the right expectation going into this movie, it’s def not for everyone, it’s a weird horror movie at its core but it’s very well done for what it is.

    Nic Cage Enters the Unknown

I wasn't sure what to think of this movie when it first came out, but my growing appreciation of late-career Cage (Mandy, Willy's Wonderland, Pig) led me to pick up this movie based on the HP Lovecraft novel of the same name... and boy, am I glad I did. This is an engrossing, startling, and at times truly shocking tale of a family torn asunder by the unknown. A must for fans of Lovecraft, or just creepy psychological body-horror and The Unlocked Cage himself.

Wow what can I say.....my jaw was dropped and open wide by the end of the movie literally. I was blown away by this movie from the colors to the sound but most importantly the creepy eerie feeling of this movie. Nicolas Cage took his acting to another level & made you feel like you were there with him. I can watch this movie over & over & over & never get sick of it. This is a must buy in 4K for the vibrant colors & wall shaking sound .A+ movie 10/10

Movie: Fun, creepy, unsettling movie. Very good Lovecraft adaptation (The Colour Out of Space) with solid performances and some well executed body horror. UHD Blu-ray: Excellent 4K quality, the colors popped and the images were super sharp on my 65" LG 4K OLED screen. One scene of a character moving a flashlight around at night was the best use of my OLED screen I've seen yet. Overall a solid addition to any Lovecraft or eery-suspense fan's collection.

Nic Cage is VERY hit or miss for me, but this is THE PERFECT role for him. The movie is very moody and original and weird. It won’t be for everyone, but if you like Lovecraft, you’ll probably find this to be the most entertaining Lovecraft adaptation outside of Stewart Gordon.

A Good Adaptation of a Classic H.P. Lovecraft Tale

Is this movie perfect? No. Is it an adaptation that maintains the spirit of the original eponymous story? Absolutely. Don't expect a direct retelling. The story has been altered, but it has been done so without ruining the flavor of the original. Nicholas Cage does a fantastic job. He is at is creepiest, which is saying a lot. It is worth watching just to see him deteriorate. If you are a fan of Lovecraft, or Cage, this movie will not disappoint.

Different. The atmosphere is amazing. Richard Stanley did a great job. Movie is a bit dull in some areas, but the extreme effects distract in those moments. Worth a watch. Only negative is it didn’t come with a digital copy.

Nicolas Cage so far has been top horror game strong. I'm a huge horrorfan. Color of Space is visually stunning. The colors pop in every scene in glorifying 4k. If you own a 4k, you might want to pick it up for the best viewing experience. From start to finish then movie sets up it's insane twists and turns. If your a Nicolas fan, watch it! Better yet, buy it! highly recommend

As a guy who loves H.P. Lovecraft stories and Nicolas Cage, this movie was a given for my collection. An eerie film well acted by the entire cast with a color palette that in 4K really pops. Without getting into the story or throwing out spoilers. The effects in this movie are really really well done, and well worth the extra for the 4K.

Crazy alien activity, insane Nic Cage acting, and H.P. Lovecraft? Oh and not to forget alpacas. Get ready for a weird and bizarre feature with this one. Very odd and very off the wall. The colors are gorgeous and truly pop while the story is so odd but keeps you glued to the screen. Nic Cage is Nic Cage as he allows his madness to shine lol

Nic Cage is good as the father of a family whose lives are destroyed when they are introduced to a cosmic horror. Cage goes crazy ala Jack Nicholson in The Shining but he was a little nutty even before the color lands in his front yard. Impressive visual effects evoking the horror that Lovecraft was known for. And they are planning The Dunwich Horror next!

I'm a big Lovecraft fan so I was really surprised by this but I'm kind og here/ there on Nick cage, but he did really well here and hes not too weird. This 4k disc does not feature HDR but still looks really good.

Lovecraft, Stanley, and Cage . . . that's about as close to a holy triumvirate as you're gonna get. This is a great movie, and Nic is pretty restrained through much of it! I recommend this one.

This was a pretty good movie. I am a big Nicolas Cage fan but the other actors were top-notch. Plus the computer graphics allowed a more accurate rendition of the story.

I'm a H.P. Lovecraft fan, so I was really looking forward to this. The colors in 4k look great, It doesn't have Dolby Atmos, and the audio is only masted in 5.1. It was good, just not great.

Not quite on the same level as Mandy but definitely in the same trippy/out there style of filmmaking. The colors look very vibrant in HDR. Worth a look at around 12 bucks.

Gorgeous, horrifying, and all-around bizarre, Color Out of Space sees Richard Stanley returning to cinema with a bang and helping to deliver one of the strongest adaptations of an H.P. Lovecraft story to date. Couple that with an appropriately eccentric performance from Nicolas Cage and you have a strong start for 2020 horror/sci-fi.
