It's Constantine so its a very dark movie and witchcraft

Constantine City of Angels is a movie of average quality. The animation is superb as is the voice cast, especially Matt Ryan as the title character. However, the story is much weaker than the many other DC animated movies from the last several years.

The movie itself is a great callback to horrific anime films from the later 80s and 90s, well deserving of it's R-rating. Stands alone well enough where you don't need to have seen the other animated movies, or Constantine's appearances on television. The disc version does lack in extras in comparison to the usual DC animated film discs, just a short featurette covering magical theories and a recording of a Wonder-Con panel for a showing of the film. Might be worth a wait if you want the disc for your collection. As a side note, if you buy the 4K copy, the digital copy is still the 1080p version.

In the tradition of DC animated, they are the equivalent to Marvel with movies. They have no equal. Constantine however, is not up to their standards. This is a great character with a lot of options in the directions as well as other characters that can be bought to the viewers attention. It just seems short on everything that DC normally gives you in an animated movie. It is worth watching as it is different in view and scope than the usual DC movie which is good, but it did not have the same magic to make it great. I hope they try again.

Great that someone chose to continue the stories of John Constantine as I was only just starting to enjoy the live action series when it was sumarilly canceled. This picks up characters where the series left off, and brings it into the realm of an R rated animated feature for release for the home video market. Colors are solid, and vibrant, and HDR brings out good detail in the ever present shadows. - 7 of 10, because it cannot really be compared to any 4K live action version. Audio is active in all channels - a solid 7.5 of 10

Fantastic film. Hope to see more (in the extras they talk about the possibility of creating a series based of this entry) in the future. Lots of nudity/sexuality and gore, but also a very solid story. Everybody loves Matt Ryan as this character, seemingly in any form, since the pilot for the live-action series debuted. I'd love for them to continue the story from the series in animation since the show ended right when it was burning on all cylinders.

I enjoyed the 2005 Constantine movie, but I will admit Keanu Reeves didn't match the vision of the original Hellblazer from the comics. Matt Ryan is the spot on personification of John Constantine. The TV show was great. Even with the inexplicable and sudden cancellation of the show, DC has managed to help Constantine live on by expanding him into several great animated features and adding him to the ensemble of Legends of Tomorrow. Glad to see him keep going.
