I'm not an over clocker so I can't speak to that yet. Install was simple and typical as far as these type of large heat pipe configurations go. It is self controlled with temperature by the MB. Playing The Outer Limits barely raised the temperature and I never heard the difference in the increase in fan speed. 970 GTX GPU fans kicked in and covered it over probably. From my experience so far I don't think you will be disappointed with this single fan unit.
