Preface: Customer of Corsair products spanning a decade. First build resides in a 400R case (golden year Sandybridge 2700k days, 5.3ghz USING the Original Corsair H100 240AIO.) TX750M PSU, replaced by AX1200 (SLI 1080TI's could bake a cake, midsummer, without AC). Corsair Fans a plenty. 2700k i7 hit 5.3 all cores w/HT utilizing a z68 Asus board, thermals kept in check all the while. Zoom forward, H115i Platinum RGB Pro 280, strapped another pair of ML140 Pro fans for push pull. Here comes the Commander Pro. Defeats a perfect BIOS curve and cannot, will not, ascertain speed of, the presence of, or permit any semblance of *command* authority over any of my iCue detected devices. 8700k is happy on Z390 Meg ACE MB. The MSI board possesses multiple proprietary headers to enable JCorsair synchronous light and real-time command. Sure, uninstall the thing, rather, detach and discard, rewire 4 exhaust, 2 bottom intake fans and H115i with ML140's x4. 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB (2x16GB) decides to wake up, latency drop from 18 to 15, happy with the timings. Children, grab a solid fan controller - by virtue of a case manufacturer of well repute, or actively price out and research the controller of your dreams. I went Silverstone. Will go Noctua fans, or Venturi if the reviews be true. Only reason this item did not receive 1 star, or the cliche "woulda rated this thing a 0 star..." Is due to by some divine will of province, the fans purpotedly spinning in excess of 25,000 RPM, (that is when a reading of a sort - yes drivers updated, yes dragon enter defeat, reenabled, uninstalled, bios reflash, 7 live USB, the read write on my nvme reigning in the Commander's seemingly absent will to perform, shoot, not worth the RMA. You can do better. I have. Night and day.

    Good fan controller

It's a fan controller, temperature sensor and LED light strip controller all in one. It's nice to be able to control up to 6 4 or 3 pin fans (it auto detects if it's pwm or not and adjusts accordingly), 2 light strips and have 4 sensors for temperatures in different places in your case. It's easily detected in Corsairs iCue software which allows you to manage everything. Installation is relatively easy, uses a standard SATA power connector and plugs into any free internal USB header on the Motherboard. The hard part is finding a place to mount it as it is a little thick (double sided sticky tape or big Velcro pads help with mounting), it does include some fan cable extensions if you mount it and the fan cables are not quite long enough to reach where you placed the Commander Pro. Make sure you have everything connected before powering on the PC as this thing does not like hot swapping fan ports! Use Corsair iCue to change the label of the fans connected to this so you can tell which is which and set each fan to speed up or slow down depending on temperature of specific components like CPU and GPU, even the AIO Corsair Water coolers.

The iCUE software that this product requires has gone through a lot of positive changes which really makes the Commander PRO much easier to recommend. If you like to set your own fan curves without having to spend time in your motherboard's BIOS, and control other Corsair RGB products, all in one place, you really need one of these. Especially important if you use any of their custom cooling Hydro X products like the D5 or DDC pump/res combo. Just be sure to manage your cables!

    Must-have for Corsair Ecosystem

The Commander PRO is a must have if your PC accessories and fans are in the Corsair ecosystem. In terms of the product itself it does everything it needs to control a fully Corsair system. The notable thing for those just getting into Corsair products or RGB in general is to do research to make sure all your products are compatible. For those purchasing the Commander PRO it is good to be aware that there will be lots of cable connections to hook up fans, light strips, and lighting nodes, so have a case with enough space to hide everything. Also very notable, this product is pricy. Going full Corsair may be expensive and a little cumbersome to set up the first time, but the end product and look are amazing.

    Corsair Commander Pro Successfully Installed

*When I built my PC several years ago, I installed a Corsair H110i AIO liquid cooler. However the version of the Corsair LINK software available at that time didn't work reliably so I never got it to work. *Recently, I got tired of the noise from the PC's fans running at 100% all of the time and research showed that the Commander Pro hardware was reliably integrated with the current version of LINK software, so I decided to take the chance to try again. I'm glad I did. The only glitch was that my motherboard only has 2 USB2 ports & I needed 3 (1 for the H110i pump, 1 for the Commander Pro, and 1 for the PC's Front Panel). Fortunately, I found a NZXT AC-IUSBH-M1 USB Hub that provides my PC with 3 USB2 ports, so I don't lose any functionality and I have total control over my PC's noise & temperature levels. The current version of Corsair's LINK software performs perfectly.

A Big Help, But Not Absolutely Needed

Admittedly, the Commander Pro does cost a fair bit and is not a necessary component when building a pc. However, if you can afford the added expense, this item makes running the RGB elements of your pc much easier and helps with the cable usage/management immensely. Depending on your case and the number of RGB fans you pan to use, putting one of these in the back of the case can really simplify the use of headers and usb sockets and overcome some issues that come motherboards have when it comes to the available headers. Outside of the physical PC, using the iCUE software to control all the elements in the case is much less complicated and once you get used to the software you can easily generate some cool effects.

Hooked up all my fans running this and a lightning RGB hub from Corsair. Originally didn’t have enough slots to do without maintaining control of each individual fan rpm as my motherboard didn’t have enough. A bit pricey for what it’s worth, however I’ve had no issues and if you’re reading this, I would assume you have an idea of the Corsair ecosystem and ICUE as well.

While on the mediocre side of pricing this package delivers high end results. I use it for controlling all 8 of the RGB Fans lighting along with the Hydro X series Pump, reservoir, CPU block and GPU block in my system. Also available to connect with 4 temp sensors, 2 additional connectors to not take away space from the motherboard and 6 fan connections this unit is fantastic for what i need it for. The iCUE software leaves something to be desired but the controller itself is a must have for me.

Im able to control all my fans and the RGB through iCue! iCue must be running for this thing to work properly. 1st item came with malfunction slots but best buy went above and beyond to make sure I received a working item in a timely fashion. It is plastic so I'd be careful but once its placed in your case with adhesive your good. Follow directions or you could pop a fuse lol.

This is definetly a controller other companies should follow. 2 additional USB 2.0 headers 4 Temp sensors (it comes with 4) you can place anywhere. can fit easily and comes with 2 way tape and other mounting accessories. seriously though if your looking for a all around controller this is the only 1 to buy. its pricey but youll see why when you start connecting your stuff

This is a great hub if you're using all corsair fans especially rgb. Everything connected and linked to iCue. In the iCue system I was able to determine each of the 6 fans that were connected and adjust the RGB. I have even used this to connect 2 Noctua fans on my AIO just to control the fan speed. Haven't had any issues with the hub itself or iCue. Overall great product and highly recommend even if its a fan hub.

A little pricey if you don't catch it on sale or have any rewards perks to use towards it. With that being said it's definitely worth it if you have corsair fans, want to monitor your Temps better and /or have extra Corsair RGB stuff. This makes it to where you can monitor all of that all within Corsair's iCue program which, to me, is very well made and easy to use.

Most mother boards only have one fan port. Having the commander made it so easy for plug and play with fans and rgb. Also you can run other brand fans on it however can’t control some of the fans speed. It will show the rpm of the fans so weird. All in all if you wanna run six fans and run their rgb effortlessly with having some temp sensors to check your rig this is the one to do it all
