This is necessary if you want more control over your fans. Also your best option if you have lots of RGB fans. Does what it's supposed to do.

Added this to a Corsair 570x case and a 3 pack SP120 RGB kit. This really eabled the level of control I was after for the fan speeds and RGB for the entire case through Corsair's iCue software. Well worth the money for me to tie everything together. Another big benefit of this is to enable individual fan speed control in either DC or PWM modes. For the SP120's that I have this is in DC mode control. At this point I'm not using the build in thermistor connections temperature monitoring but may decide to do this in the future.

I wanted 6 fans with rgb.. I'll be honest I am big corsair fan.. so I got myself 3 120mm fans and 3 140mm fans.. the commander pro makes it easy to hook it all up.. with the help of YouTube.. it was easy and my rig looks like a full on Epilepsie machine.. highly recommended for people who wanna hook up more than 3 fans or plan on to down the road plus can hook up strips as well as 6 fans.

It has everything a RGB and fan improvement you could want with 4 temperature sensors. The 2 extra 2.0 usb were a welcome site. And everything works as it should when plugged in correctly and in order. Could bot be happier.

My Motherboard comes with a single fan header and wasn't even used on my pre-build. The old fans were connected straight to the psu and were running all the time which wasn't that much of a deal. The ease of hooking it up and having the 5 different fan headers is worth the 75 bucks this hardware costs. You can also hook up RGB strips and get to have whatever RGB color lights you want on your Case. I'd definitely recommend it to a friend.

TL;DR: unless you absolutely want/need a fan controller that you can use software control in windows and you were planning on adding things like an RGB controller and more internal USB headers. this is not the best value. but if you were planning on using 3 or more the features then theres not many devices like it. 1) i was looking for a controller that allowed me to control my fans in windows, and having a 0 RPM fan mode when the computer is doing light tasks. this accomplished both. it does work as intended and because they had the thermal probes with it i also used them for more information about how my pc is handling certain workloads in certain enviroments. 2)also (in my current pc atleast) I exclusively use Corsair fans with rgb. as you can only use corsair RGB controlllers on corsair products AFAIK 3)i had used up all my internal usb headers, and wanting to use the bluetooth so i could have a wireless controller connected i needed to get more internal headers. 4) the software, im a bit of a corsair "fanboy" corsair case, power supply, mouse, keyboard, fans, cpu cooler, ram; their software is buggy at best and crashes at worst. if i launch Rainbow six siege, it crashes. guaranteed. everytime. everytime i launch their software its a gamble whether or not my ram shows up properly. one of the reasons i needed another device to control my fans is because the software cant control the fans on my cpu cooler anymore. theres no reason why, no errors, it just doesnt. so in conclusion, while the build quality is great. and it better be for the cost of it. (my last fan controller only costed about $15-20) the value isnt the best. when you add more features to something gennerally the value gets better. and i guess if you really wanted all the features it has it would be a compelling add, but how many people really care about things like the temp probes? although through all the complaining i do bet that this device will last through a few computers and work nearly as well as it did the day i bought it.

The Commander PRO is great because it allows for hardware saving of profiles and does not need iCUE or any software to be running on the PC. It allows me to control my nine Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, the RGB on my D5 EK pump/res, EK 2080 TI block, and EK monoblock. It also allows me to control the speed of my D5 pump. To use it to control RGB of these EK products you will probably need an adapter.

Does exactly what it needs to. Needed this because I have 10 case fans (way too many I know, but I could so I did lol) After some research this seemed to be the best option for connecting all the fans. It’s a little expensive but that’s to be expected from Corsair products. I do feel like you’re getting a product that you know will work though, that to me is worth it.

Does exactly what it is built to do and includes more than I would have expected. If you have already installed Icue - it's 100% plug and play. Do you have a mess of corsair fans and want to simplify everything ? Are your fans running at fixed speed and you want some measure of control ? - Problem solved by purchasing this. I'm using this for six low speed LL120's to vary speed and lighting. It could not be simpler to wire in. it does not matter which fan / which port as you can re-order them in the software. NOTABLE - The default profiles will very slightly vary the RPM at any speed setting PER FAN for 4 wire fans. This is an often overlooked but important detail when you have a bunch of fans. In my case - doing 3 and 3 on the motherboard resulted in annoying fan noise harmonics since each set would run at exactly the same RPM. ( ? - Think humming along with the vacuum - ! ) This solves that problem. There is an included double USB passthrough for other devices or controllers. This works with anything else you care to chain in to save on visible wiring. This includes four additional temp sensors with decently long leads - install them wherever you like. I have three internal at potential hotspots and one measuring ambient air temp at the front.
