The mouse itself is not bad, but the iCue software is pretty horrible. I went back and purchased the Naga. Much happier.

I bought this mouse specifically for its wireless compatibility with low latency, but I was found disappointed. When dragging the cursor across the screen it would have instances where it stops and lags behind. The side buttons are extremely hard to reach push down with your thumb. I suggest the Corsair Nightsward it has served me well.

CORSAIR - DARK CORE SE Wireless Gaming 9 Button Optical Mouse with RGB Lighting and Qi Wireless Charging - Black As a long time PC gamer I have had lots of gaming mice over the years and I enjoy PC gaming now maybe more than ever. As primarily a PC gamer having a good keyboard and mouse is very important to me. Newer gaming mice have settled into a standard feature set so it is little things that make a difference in a very crowded market. The Dark Core is a very good looking mouse. I have average size hands and the mouse is very comfortable for me. I think Corsair has done a very nice job with the RGB lighting. I have been using the mouse with the matching Gaming Qi Wireless Charging MM1000 Mouse Pad. These two were intended to be used together although it is not required and they both are very nice products. I now have quite a bit of gaming time on the Dark Core mouse and it is working very well for me. I especially like the thumb rest on the side. It seems a bit larger than most gaming mice and I do think they got the feel right. I also like the feel of the material Corsair used. Its smooth and feels very good in the hand. Teamed up with the MM1000 Mouse Pad allows you to wireless charge the mouse which I really like. Mice with RGB lighting are going to have a shorter battery life if you run with the lighting on which is how it should be used. Mated with the MM1000 Mouse Pad makes this a truly wireless mouse where you do not ever need to connect to a cable. For me personally I don’t usually spend much time mapping the mouse buttons. I judge gaming mouse on how they feel while gaming and over a full days use. The Dark Core does both very well. Still this is not a perfect device. I am not a big fan of the Corsair CUE, Corsair Utility Software. It just seems to be very limited and dated looking. And although I think the comfort is right I think some of the mouse button placements could have been done better. Still matched up with the MM1000 Mouse Pad for wireless charging and with its good looks and nice feel I am making this my primary gaming mouse. One final observation is the mouse is a bit heavy from what I normally use. It does not have removable weights so if you like your mouse very lite this one is probably not for you.

Mouse worked great for about 7-8 months, then the middle scroll click button stopped working. I had to re map the button to add a middle click. the scroll wheel has a squeak when scrolling. Mouse looked good and felt good, just not the best quality over time.

Solid mouse that goes the distance

As a Technical Insider Network member, I was given a unit in exchange for an unbiased review. As far as mice go, the Corsair Dark Core SE gaming mouse is certainly one to put on your wish list. Overall, it's a comfortable-feeling mouse with all of the customizations you'd need for any computing adventure. The mouse is solidly-built; you certainly won't be concerned about it lasting through typical use. And the fact that it uses an optical sensor for movement means it can be used on practically any surface. Technology-wise, a push of one of its many buttons -- specifically the top-middle button -- will allow you to set up one of three profiles for the mouse. Each profile can be custom-made for its array of buttons to perform specific functions, depending upon your Windows or macOS application. The LED lights that are integrated into the device do an excellent job of not just lighting it up, but conveying various levels of visual information regarding usage and battery life. Speaking of battery life, while it took me about a half hour to fully charge the mouse via its integrated Qi wireless sensor, it does come with its own USB charger to get things going. For connectivity, it's great that Corsair integrated both 2.4Ghz wifi as well as Bluetooth connectivity for smooth connections (I personally like Bluetooth connectivity as it keeps me from having to take up a port to connect and once the device is paired, it's good to go). On the negative side, the instructions don't describe how to pull off the right side of the mouse (when looking down upon it) in order to change out the Interchangeable Side Group (I guessed correctly on how to do it); this helps folks who either like the additional form factor or for lefties. Other than that, this is a good, solid mouse for any need you might have. The fact that it stores up to three profiles allows you to use this device in a multi-OS environment.

I purchased this mouse on the basis that I could charge it wirelessly. The Qi charging was unreliable. I would have a charge and leave the mouse on my Qi charger overnight to find a dead mouse in the morning.

I apologize for that, Lucas, sometimes you just would have to make sure it's correctly set on the Qi charging portion of the mousepad to avoid it not charging. If you are using a different device to charge the mouse we cannot guarantee the correct functionality, unfortunately. If you are using the MM1000 mousepad and do have issues please reach out and we'll help out: support.corsair.com CorsairGaming

The new Corsair Dark Core Se Gaming mouse is an awesome feature to add to your desktop, laptop or gaming system. The fit and feel are just right for the long gaming session. The mouse charges via an included usb or is also QI charging capable. (Great when paired with the Corsair MM1000) I tested the Mouse while creating documents, spreadsheets and surfing the net, all was very easy and enjoyable with no noticeable lag what so ever. The mouse can be paired via Bluetooth or wireless. I played Call of Duty for over an hour, Alien vs Predator, then through in some old school arcade games and had NO fatigue at all. This is a very nicely built Mouse Perfectly mated for any computer use you can think of. As an added feature the backlighting of the Mouse is very cool. This can be changed the same way you can program features for each of the 9 Buttons to your liking via the app you download. The app itself is quite large at 227MB but is very user friendly. Buttons can easily be programmed as well as custom or preprogrammed lighting. If you are in the market for a multi-use mouse, look no further. This gaming mouse will cover all your needs. I love this Mouse and would recommend this to family and friends alike.
