great comfortable headset

OK, so I own a lot of headsets. I love trying headsets because I have hearing loss in both ears. So, I look for headsets that are loud but still sound good.
I guess I'll start with a couple things that I would like to have seen better. But not a deal breaker. I would have loved the cord to be a little longer, especially being these are wired, as well as braided. I would like to have more options for the RGB lighting as far as setting up each side to be different for each earcup and maybe an option to change the color and the brightness for the mic when its muted. Lastly that I can think of would be more options preset for the mic mute button. you can set it for mic on/off, or equalizer settings. This is something I believe they could update, but maybe another option to have that turn on/off the mic feedback, or maybe even to mute sound all together. For me, having it mute the mic, I just raise the mic up to mute so the button I would rather use for something else. And lastly, maybe some better overall options withing the software, like some different voices to choose from, which would be another great use for the mic button to be able to cycle thru voices.
outside of those things, there is a lot that I love about this headset. The biggest one is just how it sounds. I can hear footsteps of players and direction where they are at, and this is just with default settings. Even louder when you go thru the equalizer and set that. default everything is set to 50%. Most headsets I have to max out each eq setting and they still don't feel loud enough. With these they felt great with default and almost too much when set to max.
I also love having the mic flip up to mute. Especially at times I might want to eat something, easy to just push mic up and down when need. This not only mutes but makes it so the mic is out of the way. Then easy to put mic back down when need to talk. Other headsets I have to remove the mic and then if need to talk, have to re put the mic back in.
The headset feels great too. I have been using this for hours at a time. At first, I was upset that I could not adjust the headband. This was due to lack of instructions. So, the first few hours it was not as comfortable as the headband kept pulling the headset up. But then I found out after messing around that it has a velcro strap on each side so you can loosen up. After that I was able to adjust the headset how I like.
The mic, nothing fancy but it gets the job done. But from others, it sounds clear, and they can easily hear me. My only gripe is that it does pick up a lot. It's an omni directional mic so picks up from all angles. If using with a PC, it's not that bad if using discord as you can go into discord and set up to help with background noise. Another negative though is that the mic tip curves and when put the mic in the up position all the way it presses against my forehead. So, it would be nice if maybe it angled back a little more. And lastly with the mic, I wish they could come up with a way that you could detach the mic, as well as allow it to move up like it does. This way maybe later if mic stops working you could replace it or get a better mic if want. But at this moment it does not detach.
Overall, I am loving this headset and glad I have gotten them.

The headset's not bad, wish it had over the ear cushions as my head is large and the headset hurts my ear's for long time game play but still good on everything else.
Thank you for your feedback. Have you already tried adjusting the floating headband? For video guidance adjusting the headband, please feel free to refer to our CORSAIR LAB YouTube channel. If you have any questions, you may also reach out to support via our website and we'll happily assist you.

I am not actually a gamer. So my review is not to say that the product itself is bad, BUT, for me, I also have an SLR microphone interface that I use for other types of recordings and each time I plug this headsety in, it totally hijacks all the sound and MIC settings and when I decide to unplug it to get back to my other recording projects I end up wasting LOTS of my valuable time getting things configured back to where they were again, and even then, the sound is never the same! There is ALWAYS something a bit off so if your doing any kind of mixing you know how critical it is to have all your sound settings be just right!
I for one am just not going to waste my time and I am just returning them! Not worth the grief!
The headset wouldn't have that capability, please check how your software is all set up for your devices to fix your problem, and/or reach out to our team at any time right in our site.

This is another entry into the saturated headset market where they are trying to pack as much as they can for the best price possible. Taking them out of the box and they have a good quality feel. The fitment is tight and they don’t make a tremendous amount of noise when you flex them. The earphones have memory foam earpads. The usb cord is 6’ long. Setup is pretty easy. Plug in the headset and go to the iCue website. There you can play with the RGB and EQ settings. You can also disable the surround sound
These headphones perform pretty well. The Dolby Atmos sounds very good, but I feel like it mutes the bass a little too much. I find myself turning off the surround sound and adjusting the eq settings to get the sound that I want. They sound quality is very good and the microphone is sensitive. They are pretty comfortable, but the memory foam can retain heat which can get uncomfortable when playing for a long period of time. For that reason as well as the bass issue, I am taking away a star. Overall though, you can’t go wrong for the price.

These are a gift and a link was sent to me by my gaming Grandson who wants these so this is what he will be getting for Christmas. Woo Hoo I know he will be happy.

Like the title suggests, this HS80 is a wired version of the wireless version that had great comfort, great sound quality, impressive mic. By taking out the wireless aspect, they were able to bring down the price point a fair bit.
In terms of build quality, I may be biased, but I have always been impressed with the solid build quality of Corsair products. This one is no different. It does have quite a bit of plastic as you would expect at this price point but it is thick and combined with the aluminum, it is fairly sturdy. The earcups can be rotated and the memory foam they use is quite comfortable and cool although I do tend to sweat alot during longer gaming sessions. One design element that is brought up for the HS80 is the headband adjustment. It is adjusted with velcro. This was not a problem for me as I am the only user but if you have multiple users, then having to adjust via velcro every time can be a pain. Otherwise, the comfort of the headphones is really not an issue. While the comfort level will not be world-class, I did not mind wearing the HS80 for longer gaming sessions. A couple things to note. This is most definitely for PC gaming. The cord tops out at 71 inches and is non-removable. This makes for a comfortable length when PC gaming but definitely not for consoles. Another thing to note is that the "RGB" is not as strong as other options. The logos on each side and the microphone light up. That's about it. I am not crazy about RGB on gaming headsets so this was a non-factor for me but to each their own.
In regards to performance, the audio quality shines. Gaming, streaming movies and TV shoes, and music. This was excellent at all of them. I often picked up details that I could not otherwise hear with just speakers. Overall, I was very impressed with the audio quality. The mic is even better. I truly think that the mic is up there with the top-level headsets. My voice recordings were clear and crisp. No problems with communication. It also does a fairly good job of blocking out ambient sound.
All in all, I think the wired HS80 is a good buy. I think it has solid build quality with good comfort. It absolutely shines in regards to audio quality and the mic.

If you like your games whispering sweet nothings in your ear….then by George…this is the headset for you! Miss your team mates shouting for your help. Miss the beep beeping of the motion detectors saying “the Aliens are coming.” On the up side, they look and feel nice….if you don’t care about having ears. After an hour you’ll want to fling them back into the box and drop kick them onto the Bestbuy return counter.
Sorry to hear about your experience. Did you enable Dolby Atmos for your HS80? Visual guidance may be found here: (https://youtu.be/V_Sq6lqTK7w). Dolby Access also allows you to customize the EQ to tailor to your ears.

Get the wireless one's instead. The HS80 USB is terrible. The iCUE software was detecting the headphones but the EQ was not working for some dumb reason. My drivers are all updated, but still nothing. And Corsair support was useless. Don't buy.
Sorry to hear about your experience. Please make sure you are on the latest version of iCUE.
