Excellent headset at a fair price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This new HS80 is very comfortable. If you have a larger head I would definitely try it on first before purchasing, as this model does not have adjustable lengths that you can pull down. Rather, it uses the elastic band on the top of your head for fitment. If I bottom out the elastic band, I can barely get the cups over my ears...but I also wear 2XL motorcycle helmets. Sound quality is great. Adjusting settings is quick and easy in the Corsair software. The microphone seems to work well for a wireless headset. Wired headsets always seem to have an advantage when it comes to the mic due to compression, but the newer wireless headset keep getting better and better. The ear cups are soft and plush, and I've had no problems wearing this headset for hours on end. Battery life claimed at 20 hours seems to be on par with what i'm getting. I do not typically have my headphones turned up to the max, or super loud in general, which does help with battery life. Overall, I would recommend this headset to anyone looking for a solid, comfortable pair for their PC or Playstation.

Great sound, comfort and build quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these. and compared to some of the more expensive options on the market this really goes toe to toe with them. Build quality is very good, seems like a very solid product which is the same with all Corsair products. nothing seems to creek or makes any popping or crack sounds which is a great sign for durability. Comfort wise I'm also impressed, the clamping force is just right for my head where I don't feel any pressure and i also don't get any ear fatigue when using them. I can however get hot ears but that's likely more to do with recently moving to Florida and the warmer temps. Battery is long lasting, i have not had to recharge them as yet. In game these really do shine as i can hear everything clearly but they also have a good amount of low end. footsteps can be heard in BR games so it gives you an advantage to know where these people are situated around you. Also the mic on this is extremely clear with many people telling me how good I came across in parties. Overall these are a great set of gaming cans and i would highly recommend them

It's good, but here's what could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are pretty good. I've had them for almost a year now, and I can give it a proper review now. Some background before I get into this, before these Corsair headphones I had HyperX Cloud Stinger I wired headphones for gaming. They were cheap and they lasted me about 9 years. I'll be comparing this Corsair headset to those headphones and some personal headphones I used for general use over the years (ranging from 30 dollar headphones and 400) Where it's good: - The sound is impressively good for a $60-140 headset. It can feel lacking in base, but it's pretty negligible. It makes up for this by being satisfying in mid-high ranges. I personally enjoy using this for gaming and music because it does a pretty good job. Sometimes I hear things in my songs that I otherwise wouldn't with my Bose earbuds and headphones. - The surround sound is accurate and precise, as all gaming headsets should and usually are. - It looks extremely nice and feels like a quality pair of headphones (it's weighty and doesn't feel like just plastic). - The software, although takes some time to set up, does offer some more flexibility compared to cheaper or wired headphones (equalizer, light customization, and some microphone tweaking) - The microphone muting system is convenient, and was personally one of the big things I looked for when purchasing this. Where it struggles: - The comfortability is pretty decent, but I don't recommend it if you wear glasses. I saw someone else say that, and I didn't care, but these headphones will literally wedge a dent in your skull if you don't get proper breaks (it will go away after some time) - They also start becoming uncomfortable on the the top of your head after 3-4 hours of playing games. Even when you first put the headphones, you could say to yourself, "Oh, these are pretty heavy." While you really should take breaks, I'm not one of those people, and most young people aren't. This is probably from the material the frame is made of. - The microphone is iffy. I feel my $40 dollar HyperX headphone mic was much better, and while talking online and with friends, the differences were pretty obvious. It randomly peaks while talking and picks up noise from a pretty long distance away. Essentially anything that you can hear, is something the person on the other side can hear as well. That makes some conversations funny, but I seriously don't recommend these headphones for its microphone. You'd be better off getting an actual stand-alone mic than using this one. - The battery life stated is misleading. While these claim to be RGB, it's literally just the logos. Surprisingly, the two logos that are lit up reduce the battery life from a comfortable 20 hours to a measly 5-6. That's about as much as a high end pair of earbuds a fraction of the size of these headphones. If I had to guess, the weight was already too much to risk adding a better battery, but that's speculation. This makes both the battery claim and RGB claim pretty misleading. You really can't have both at the same time. - The set up to these headphones was annoyingly long compared to what I've had. Bose takes maybe 5 minutes if you don't already have an account, and sometimes less than 30 seconds if you do. Wired headphones you literally just plug in. These took 5 minutes just to set up an account, another 5-10 minutes to make sure I was getting the right application to begin with, the a further 10 minutes just on the application just to get the things that I wanted (equalizer, mic, lights, ps5 connectivity). By far the mic took the longest due to it being so quiet. At least for me, I have to boost it on Windows AND the iCUE application just to be audible. - This is a personal pet peeve, but the lack of a pause, skip, or rewind/replay button annoys me. It's wireless so you really expect it to be able to do that, but it doesn't. It would be fine if they implemented a system like Bose, Sony, or most other headphones where you can double, triple, or hold the power or volume wheel to do one of those actions, but it doesn't. Instead, if you press the volume wheel, it changes the equalizer preset, which is super useless. I've never one needed to use that. - If you plan to use this for the PS5, be prepared to lose any customizations you made through iCUE, and turning down the volume immediately after logging into your account. It starts off at max volume and will reset to max if you disconnect for even a second. That's annoying to me, but it may not be to you, or you don't think that's product ending enough to care. Don't get the wrong idea. Just because the cons are longer than the pros does not mean these headphones are bad. It takes more time to explain exactly where these go wrong compared to exactly where it goes right.

High Quality and Comfortable Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a great pair of headphones. I was looking for something that I could use wirelessly with my Playstation, and its great that this is specifically designed for that. You can tell the quality of the headset right out of the box. My box was delivered pretty beat up and it looks like the delivery person wasn’t too careful. That wasn’t a problem since the company does a good job of providing enough buffer and protection in the box that the headset itself came through without any damage. Installing was pretty simple and straightforward and I didn’t have any issues. One quirky thing about using these headphones on a desktop is that when you plug the headset in, but don’t “turn it on” it will get its power from the USB port and set up a wired driver for your computer. I used this while plugged in on my computer first since I wasn’t sure how much of a charge there would be. The weird thing is that the USB wireless receiver takes priority over the wired connection, but if you’re plugged in and haven’t pushed the power button, no sound will come through the USB’s driver. You have to switch to the other driver to hear anything. However, when you push the power button on the headset it actually disables the driver for the wired connection and only the wireless connection exists, and it now works properly. This isn’t really a problem in that everything still works fine, its just a bit quirky and might through you off if you’re using your headset in a wired mode to charge it and no sound comes out. On a PC the sound is great, but installing the Dolby sound app and using it to tweak the sound really makes a difference. This is still a headset so it isn’t as good as a real surround sound system, but I think that the app really improved the performance of the headset. The headset itself is very comfortable. It has a size adjustment method I haven’t used before in that it has essentially a cloth headband insert that you can adjust the size of by using the Velcro on the inside of the headset. As long as this doesn’t wear out to easily, I can see this as being better than the style that extends the band by having extendable plastic components in the band itself. I often get my hair caught in those as I adjust them and its just irritating to get your hair pulled out every once in a while. I love the ability to adjust the sound on the headset itself and to mute the speaker by lifting up the mic. The earpieces comfortably fit all the way around my ears, and it makes it so much more comfortable than on ear headsets or earbuds. I can wear this set for a long time without any issue or discomfort. It’s nice to not have to exit a game or go into the options to tweak those settings on the fly. If you’re into colors and that type of aesthetic, its fun to be able to set a color patter on the logos of the headset. Personally I don’t care that much since I can’t see it when I’m using them, but it’s still fun. Everyone said they could hear me through the mic easily and clearly. I use it for gaming and don’t really do any streaming, podcasting or other things that really take a great microphone so I don’t know all the ins and outs of what streamers might care about, but the quality is great for me. Overall these are an amazing set of headphones that I would gladly recommend to any of may family or friends.

Great Sounding RGB Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HS80 is a comfortable gaming headset, that has good audio and a great microphone. The build is durable and appears built to last while the design is stylish yet simplistic, focusing on function of features. The sound is pretty good. I’m not an audiophile but the songs I’m used to listening to for bass, vocals, and other instrumentals came across clear and as expected. Plugging in the USB dongle and turning on the headset has been enough to get the headset functioning. The slipstream technology doesn’t lag in it’s delivery and I can’t tell it isn’t hard lined. No issues with distance and I didn’t notice any cutting in and out until I put a few walls between the headset and the dongle. If you want to start customizing, you can do so using the EQ and lighting settings with the iCUE software from Corsair. I’ve also found that if you need to plug in while gaming, the headset works through it’s USB-C charger. The headset does work with Dolby Atmos which is such a neat way to experience sound. I was able to hear where the action was happening and the details of the game. I find the headset to be comfortable and stylish. I liked the white more than I thought I would. I tend to get dark peripherals as they do not show dirt as much as the lighter colors, but the white/gray combo doesn’t disappoint. There’s plenty of foam on the earmuffs and I don’t really notice any wear fatigue unless they’ve been on for quite a while, 4 to 5 hours. There’s no cheap creaking when you flex the headset the parts that are supposed to move are made of aluminum. The adjusting is done on the headband which is threaded through the headband part of the headset and adjusted by pulling the Velcro ends to where you want them. As far as features, Corsair went for a simple design. You get a volume wheel, power button, charging port and a non-removable folding mike boom. That’s it. And if that’s all you need that’s fine. I would have liked to have seen an audio jack for a bit of versatility. It’s hard to say what the boom material is made of, but it easily folds up and out of the way when not in use and easily adjustable. The headphones rotate 90 degrees so you can wear them around your neck, but only in one direction which I found to be a bit odd. The headphones rotate so that the mike boom in facing in towards your neck and the ear muffs rest against your collarbone. The mike boom isn’t uncomfortable, but they could have made it rotate the other direction just as easily and got the boom facing on the outside. Also, I like to place the earmuffs facing out so I can turn up the volume and give my ears a rest when I’m not on comms. In summary, I like this headset, and it is a good headset, but with a few flaws. The build quality, aesthetics, and sound quality are up there with some of the best. The limited rotation of the earmuff and lack of an audio jack are really the only complaints. If those two things are deal killers, then these headphones are a great pick.

Comfort, High Quality And Great Sound!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are really nice. They're comfortable, even during long gaming sessions, they look great, and more importantly they sound great! The spatial sound is on point and games sound much more immersive to me. The headphones are made with high quality material and are extremely light. The head strap is adjustable with Velcro secured straps tucked neatly into the top. Flipping the mic up automatically mutes it and there is a volume knob on the back that also changes the EQ preset when pushed in. Corsair really put a lot of thought into comfort and performance when they designed these. I will recommend them to anyone that listens.
