It allows for smooth movement of the mouse and due to the size, we don't have to pay close attention to where the mouse is located on the pad.

Seems like Corsair might've also thickened the rubber giving it a very nice feel over my older MM300 mat. I am marking it down a star since the rubber releases a horrible smell. I am hoping it'll go away over time.
