Works fine as far as I know/can tell, does randomly emit a loud buzzing noise thay is incredibly annoying and somewhat concerning. Ive used corsair psu's my whole life, and this was the first Ive had with this issue.

Have had other Corsair power supplies that have lasted. This new RM850x 2024 ATX3.1 model is questionable. The new cables are nice and thin for easy management, but some of the connector do not seat easily/properly. With new RTX50 series already melting down with nvidia saying improperly seated cables this one leaves me questioning if I should keep it. Still debating on returning.

Good PSU, but recently had issue with USB shutting down. Noticed that the PSU was way hotong than it should be. Got it back in April issues started after 5 months. 6 months it happened more often.

Bit of an oddity with this one. I think it's a model issue. The standby power for sleep or turn on from Windows shutdown does not hold enough power to boot the machine. Replaced it with the exact same model and the same issue occurs. The only way to remedy it is to turn the power supply off and on. Old PSU behaved normally. I am using an AM4 board so perhaps there is something to do with it there but odd none the less.

I have tried two of these units with my asrock taichi x99 motherboard. My system works perfect with my hx750i. I have tried everything I know to get it to work. I will have to spend more to get a single rail design. I'm sure it works amazing on other systems. Just not mine for some in depth reason.

I’m giving this one star review not to the product but to Best Buy itself consistently calling me by name that isn’t my name when I’ve changed my name multiple times and yet you still call me by the wrong name. It’s a little disrespectful Best Buy. You need to do better I’m done buying from you.

    Damages "old" PCs

The PSU does not come with a user manual or spare cable bag (PSU, cables, 4 screws, Zip-ties and Safety Disclaimer). When I installed the RM850e and turned on my spare PC the GPU (560ti) emitted a very loud coil whine that sounded just like a telegraph machine from five feet away. The GPU's 12V coils could barely handle the massive 12V rail ripple coming from the PSU. The motherboard (MSI 890FXA-GD70) LED code started to flicker on and off. I pulled the plug and tried another functional GPU (GT740) and it was even worse. I reinstalled the old Corsair 550W PSU, now both GPU's have damaged volt pots and coil whine at idle. When I returned the PSU, Bestbuy accepted it and gave me store credit ($130.81). Avoid this PSU. Do not use it for "old" PC's that NO NOT meet ATX 3.1 power standards or it will damage your computer.

      Hello,

This shouldn't damage any of your components whatsoever, at any time. Glad you were able to return the faulty unit.
