Good but not worth the price

It has a good build and very high quality caps, with no real downside. Saying that, for this price it is not worth it. It does not come with enough goodies to really justify the price. The k70 and a few other major keyboards are around this price but does the job a lot better. This is a good product but not for the price.

This review was in no way against the keyboard manufacturer itself-I just wanted a back-lit keyboard and a sales person said this was 7 colors and it was only one-red -and it was a mechanical keyboard for gamers. I tried it briefly and the red was just too hard on the eyes. So I returned it.

if you like the lights don't buy this

Love Corsair products... love mechanical keyboards, thought the red lights fit with the red components on my built system. However, I returned the first one after dealing with Corsairs support when the lights quit working. They finally gave up and said return it to the store. Second keyboard worked great but Corsair wanted to update when I first plugged it in and then it didn't work. After flashing the keyboard, re down loading, starting and restarting it finally works, but the lights flicker and go off and on. So bottom line if you have to have lights on a mechanical keyboard spend the extra hundred to go up a few models...and I have no idea why this keyboard was already $99

This keyboard might be ok for people with longer fingers. Unfortunately, I do not. The long keystrokes combined with the spacing of the switches cramped my hand after about 20 minutes of gaming.

The lights are cool but this is the loudest keyboard ive ever heard. The material is nice but the shape of they keys are weird and angled at an awkward position.

The keys are nice mechanical cherry mx improves response time in all game types. However after 2.5 weeks my enter button quit working it was fine I adapted to using the number key pad enter. Now the numbers are unresponsive and I practically have to use the ease of access keyboard to write this review. I would not recommend, 80 dollars for fancy lights and key switches. Am returning now will have to see how quickly and responsive corsair is.

    Sturdy, Responsive, Great Keyboard

Great overall keyboard for Gaming, Typing, Work/School. The keys light up a cherry red but can be dimmed to low, medium or high with quick access button. The color can be changed from the cherry red to different shades of red. The key fonts are big and not loud like the other keyboards, key strokes sound like any other office keyboard. The keyboard is thick and sturdy which I love and does not feel flimsy or slides on the surface. The keyboard also has an USB slot to connect other USB devices which is great to plug in a cellphone for example or mouse. Overall this is a great keyboard, it's exactly what I wanted. Something sturdy, key lighting, not to loud and at a decent price. I recommend this to all gamers or anyone wanting light up keys that are easy on the eyes.

    Great Keyboard for the Price

Perfect keyboard if you don't mind having just one color. I went to the store in my town and they had this one, and many other Corsair models, many of the same spec, but a number of the others had RGB lighting rather than just the red. At the time, this keyboard was on sale for much less than any of the RGB keyboards, and I just thought for the price, I am getting a fully mechanical keyboard minus the perk of the RGB coloring. If you can handle going without the RGB coloring and just doing the red color, you still get all of the great patterns, per key lighting, and dynamic lighting, along with the mechanical action of CHERRYMX RED keys. It really is a great value keyboard. It also has much quieter mechanical keys against Razer's noisy custom CHERRY keys, but that is just a matter of preference.

    Strafe Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Great keyboard. Especially like the way it lights up. Full size keyboard that is a fantastic keyboard for everyday use. I like the feel of the mechanical keys. The clicking is not overly loud. I compared it to the Razer and chose the Strafe for the better price and overall feel. For me, I think it was a wise choice. It did not however come with the palm rest, so I purchased a Glorious PC Gaming palm rest that fits the keyboard perfectly.

    Board is almost perfect

Pros: LED brightness settings, media buttons, simple design, cool 'effects' from the LEDs, not overly loud, good sensitivity. Cons (where I took off 1 star): F3 key has no light, enter key is only half way illuminated, for the price it should include a palm/wrist cushion. Summary: Good overall board, does what I need it to, and has some unique options for LED illumination. It matches well with my color scheme. But it has a pair of lighting defects in the F3 key and enter key.

Overall great keyboard. Only problem I have is mainly for mine only and may not have occurred to others. The led on the left side of the keyboard shows through in the front a little, causing a bit of a distraction sometimes, but while gaming I rarely notice it. Although this keyboard isn't as good as the outemu blue keyboard I had before when it comes to typing, it is still decent. When it comes to gaming, however, thats where this keyboard really shines. Definitely would buy again.

Possibly one of the best keyboards i have ever owned! Not really much con's to the keyboard other than if i had the money i would have bought the K70 RGB but this is the next best thing! sleek and has really reliable keys because i know from personal experience and owning Razer's and Logitech's.

As a software developer, I have to deal with typing for a long time everyday. This red switch keyboard is the right fit for me! Pros: - solid-built - nice backlight Cons: - the cord is to thick which makes it hard to bend...

    Great Price, Great Keyboard

So I bought this keyboard last week, and the reason why I chose the Strafe is cause of the price $81.99 for a Cherry MX switches. I used a Razer mechanical keyboard for about 3 years before it finally died. It was an Cherry MX Blue switch and it was way to loud for my taste, and also I really wasn't a fan of RGB coloring. So my next keyboard was this one because I wanted something plain and boy so far I love the keyboard. Keyboard isn't too loud, like a Brown or Blue switch, still has the response of a Blue or Brown switch. Perfectly for gaming and just average day use. I write a lot of bash and puppet scripts and this keyboard sure does feel good when writing those scripts.

I absolutely love this keyboard! The mechanical cherry switches are super satisfying to use. At first I was a bit skeptical about the price, however I actually read a personal review about The Corsair Strafe and it seemed like the person had a great time using the keyboard so I decided to buy one myself. I couldn't have been more excited when I got mine in the mail, as I am now gaming at the top of my performance. The article was very helpful to me -- if you want to check it out yourself you can read it here http://www.quikrev.com/corsair-strafe-cherry-mx-red-mechanical-gaming-keyboard/.

I bought this keyboard in 2017 and I am still using it. Occasionally now in 2022 a couple keys stick. I wish there was easier ways to keep cat hairt and crumbs out from underneath the keys. Every once ina while now the icue settings reset on the keyboard. Not sure why. Other then that I love this keyboard and it has done very well for me. I paid $85 for this back in 2017!
