It's paste

If you're looking for maximum cooling, you get something better. Paste shouldn't be a make or break though since the more important aspects is the heatsink, airflow, positive/negative pressure, and direction of the fans. You can have the best paste in the world and it won't do anything without proper expelling of the warmer air.

TM30 Thermal Paste
