Customers are saying

Customers admire the VIRTUOSO XT Wireless Gaming Headset for its sound quality, comfortable design, long battery life, and effective Bluetooth functionality. Some customers have noted the headset's weight and that the bass may not appeal to everyone. Others mention the wireless range could be better, the price is a bit high, and the associated software is not great. Overall, the positive features seem to outweigh the negative ones for most users.

    Mine didn’t work right

Mine would skip and go silent every 20 seconds or so for a split second. It became very annoying quickly. They would do it while charged, plugged directly into my laptop and over Bluetooth. I returned them and got a pair of razer headphones.

Overall great headset with one flaw I couldn't figure out. My audio when gaming on PC can sometimes cut out for fractions of a second, like a bad connection. But I have direct line of sight to the USB receiver so it shouldn't be an issue. Will be returning mine because of this.

Had these for a year and the left speaker gets a weird feed back like a bad tv channel. Turn all the volume down and it still has the static sound. I even unplugged it from everything and the left ear would just play loud static erratically.

Good headset for movies, decent for gaming/music

The Corsair Virtuso RGB WIRELESS XT High-Fidelity Gaming Headset is a decent headset for gaming and music, but is much better for movies utilizing Dolby Atmos. The Virtuoso is very well constructed, although somewhat heavy on the head after several hours. The outside of the cups have a brushed metal look on the outside with an ARGB Corsair logo that can be controlled via the iCue app. The ARGB almost has a pixelated look which I found different than other ARGB headsets in a good way. The inside of the cups are very soft, perhaps too soft to withstand the natural pressure of the headband. Speaking of the headband, it feels very solid and heavy, but the cushion provided by the cover does a good job of making the band feel soft on top of the head. The microphone is completely adjustable and comes with a red/green led light on the end so that you can quickly tell if the mic is muted or not. The left cup includes a 3.5mm jack and the USB-C charging port. The right cup includes a bluetooth multi-function toggle, a wired/wireless toggle, and a volume up/down wheel. There is also a microphone mute push button on the bottom of the mic boom where it joins the headset, which is an intuitive location for it. It does feel somewhat heavy when wearing the headset for any length of time, but on the other hand it also feels like it was constructed of quality materials that aren't going to break if the headset accidentally gets dropped or stepped on. Setting them up for use was fairly easy, and there were many choices on how to connect them including bluetooth, wireless with a dongle, wired via USB, and wired via 3.5mm analog jack. The box included the headset and boom mic separately; the boom is quickly connected to the headset. The box also included a storage pouch, USB C charging cable, 3.5mm analog cable, and wireless USB dongle. I downloaded the iCue app onto my computer which allows for control of the ARGB and the equalizer. There are several preset options for the equalizer, and there is a separate slider to control the mic level and the mic sidetone. I also downloaded the Dolby Atmos app which recognized the headset immediately. The Dolby Atmos does override any equalizer settings that you may have set in iCue. Watching movies with this headset was incredible with the Dolby Atmos turned on. The quality and range of the sound was top notch, and it felt like surround sound. But, when switching to listening to music or to gaming, I found that Dolby Atmos was not a very good option. I turned the Dolby Atmos off and used the iCue equalizer to try and find a good mix of sound but none of the settings sounded that great, even compared to another headset I have owned for a few years. A frustration was that if I forgot to change whether Atmos was on or off and whether the equalizer was set correctly before the entering a gaming session, I had to back all the way out of the game to set the headset settings correctly before restarting the game. In the FPS game Call of Duty Cold War, I tried various sound profiles but none of them seemed like a particularly good choice, and espeically not Atmos. Either the range was tuned so that chat was a priority and sounded clear at the expense of the other end of the audio range or the game sounds drowned out the chat. If the equalizer was left in the middle for all the ranges, it produced the worst of both worlds: no bass, and no clear chat. When I tested the mic, it worked very well and had good quality. I wish that the sound quality produced by this headset matched the high construction quality. It is close, but has room for improvement. A single charge lasted me about 18 hours, but I preferred playing with the headset attached via USB because that allows for a better sound quality than 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth, or wireless connectivity. I would recommend this headset for someone who appreciates high quality audio from their movies and a user who puts in light gaming hours. For medium to longer length gaming sessions, I think a user could find the headset a bit heavy and squeezing to the ears.

When it comes out sound, I like to think I set the bar high for myself. Lately I’ve been playing my PC games on my home theater for the bigger screen and sound coming from my laptop. I love to turn the volume up and play my games to get full sound and larger picture from my TV, especially with first-person shooters. The problem is, finding time when I have the house to myself and not waking people in my house up. Hence the Virtuoso XT Headset. (TLDR is at the bottom) Most people don’t live by themselves and playing games full blast isn’t really ideal if you’re trying to be polite. I can barely find time to push my home theater sound (Atmos setup) to its limits most of the time, even just for movies. Some of the games I’ve played with it are Outriders, which def blows my older headset away, especially when it comes to deeper sound. For more 3D sound, I like to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare, the one newer one released with Dolby Atmos. On top of these options, it provides its own Slipstream technology which creates extra low latency. Here are some things I like about the headset… Features: The headset in general is very comfortable, not heavy, and doesn’t squeeze your head too tightly which can cause me headaches. The controls are pretty simple and easy to use. One of the best things about this headset are all the versatile ways you can connect. Typically you get 2 options with wired headsets, wired (3.5mm) and wireless (USB). This headset gives you 4 options! 3.5mm wired, USB wired, USB wireless, and Bluetooth…love it. It can connect to USB wireless and Bluetooth simultaneously, I’ll get notifications on my headset if my phone rings while I’m playing games. Also, its convenient to be connected to both computer and my phone without worrying about unplugging anything or switching connections. On top of connectivity options, it touts a higher range of audio (20Hz – 40k Hz), a microphone that easily detaches, Dolby Atmos, up to a full day of battery life, and some custom lighting features on the headset which are actually pretty cool. You can control these features in the iCue software which give it a nice effect, but a heads up, will prob lower the battery life. Speaking of the iCue software, once installed on your computer, you can control the lighting effects on your headset, firmware updates, headphone settings, and Equalizer. You can also set the USB receiver to be used in a Playstation mode or Multipoint mode and pair compatible devices with it. One issue I did have on my gaming laptop was the iCue screen was cut off on a 14” screen. While most gaming laptops have bigger screens, if you’re like me it may limit your capabilities with iCue for the time being, but it works great on my desktop. Room for improvements: - 60 Ft of distance with wireless USB is pretty limited. I went from the living room area to the bathroom right behind a wall, and it started cutting out. My guess is the slipstream feature can easily attenuate with walls, so don’t expect a full 60 feet indoors. - Was watching some videos in bed on my phone via Bluetooth while my gf was sleeping, and the Bluetooth disconnected randomly a few times. I also had a 45 minutes video chat call on my phone via Bluetooth and no issues, so it could have just been a fluke or something on my phone. TLDR: Pros - Ideal gaming headset, including comfort, style, and battery life - Designed for almost all devices including gaming consoles, computers, phones, etc… - 24 bit HD audio with Dolby Atmos and Slipstream technology for low latency audio - 4 options for connectivity - Lighting, Battery Life, and customization options via the iCue software including multiple profiles - Versatility: Great for Atmos products (movies and games) and even connecting to Bluetooth on my phone. Worked great for video chats with my girlfriend - Nice magnetic clasp carrying case included - Battery saving function: 10 minutes idle and it goes to sleep, when you pick it up, it wakes up automatically - 2 Year warranty Cons - Wireless distance can be limited with walls via USB - Charging light when full is supposed to be solid green, but a couple of times it slowly blinks even after charging all night. Can be hard to tell if its fully charged or not. Overall the Pros def outweigh the Cons which are small and can probably be improved through firmware updates. This is my third gaming headset and I’ll say it’s the most complete package for this price range that I’ve experienced. I’d recommend this headset for gamers, movies, and even for music on the go (including HiFi quality).
