High expections, Poor outcome
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While feeling sturdy and looking sleek these have to be one of the worst experiences with a pair of wireless gaming headsets. The headset itself slides off while gaming after a min or so. The mic would only pickup the sound of my keyboard but not my voice. I tried resetting and updating the headset with no change. I would highly recommend the Steelseries Artics Nova Pros for a high quality gaming headset.

Jack of all trade headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: -Dolby Atmos -Battery life -Versatile connection Con: -Pleather foam doesn’t breathe This is an all around premium headset. It has a good build, but light and comfortable. It’s very versatile and can be connected to PC, consoles, and phone via wired, wireless, and bluetooth. It also can be connected to two devices simultaneously. It has good audio and can be adjusted to be better. Dolby Atmos support is awesome. The mic audio is clear but picks up everything. Build This headset feels premium. It looks like it would be tight and heavy, but it’s aluminium and very light and comfortable. The padding is thick and I don’t feel any clamping after wearing it for hours. The pleather foam doesn’t breath, so the ears do get warm after a while. The earpieces have a tight pivot so it doesn’t conform to my head as easily, but it stays in place once I adjust it to fit just right. It’s also a bit shallow so the edge of my ears touch the inside. The detachable mic is also nice, not light and flimsy. The RGB logo is subtle and not overly bright. The controls are on the right, with buttons to control Bluetooth connections and a volume wheel. There’s no volume control to adjust between game and chat audio, and that has to be done in the iCue app. Sound To me, the sound out of the box is fine. The sound seems even across the range so it lacks some bass. You can adjust the EQ within the iCue app. The best feature is definitely the Dolby Atmos for PC. All you have to do is download the free Dolby app from the Windows store and it automatically activates Atmos. In supported games, Atmos sounds great. I can really hear the difference when something is circling around me from a distance. Connections Very versatile. It has wireless connection that can be used with PC or consoles, bluetooth, and wired. It can be connected to two devices simultaneously via wireless and bluetooth. It’s nice to be able to hear the game while being able to hear my phone as well. There wasn’t any noticeable delay with wireless, and has a range about 20-30 ft before the audio starts to cut out. With a wired connection, you get a high fidelity audio if you have a source that supports it. Mic The mic is impressive for such a small headset mic. My voice comes in loud and clear, and not muffled and quiet like typical gaming headsets. It does, however, pick up all background noises in the room so running it through a noise suppression is advised. On voice chat and recording, the mic audio was fine, but I got hissing when I tried it in OBS without noise suppression. With some processing, I can see using this mic for streaming and recording. Battery About 14 hours of use, which is twice the typical headset. iCue I’m used to iCue so I found the app to be fine. You can adjust your EQ, the RGB, and game/chat mix. I wish there was a way to adjust the mix on the headset itself rather than having to open up the app to do so. Overall, it does everything well. It’s well built and comfortable. The audio is great, and can be adjusted to be better. Dolby Atmos makes gaming much more immersive. The mic is clear but picks up a lot of background noises. Battery is twice as good as any other wireless headsets I’ve owned. If you need a jack of all trades for a headset, then this is a worthy choice.

Poor Quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to get these then sadly found out they have shipped me a factory defective unit. I then returned them and was shipped a new pair, only for them to be the exact same audio wise. The audio on both pairs were incredibly flat and sounded like someone hitting a tin can with a rock even though I had them adjusted. Would not recommend

Month Old Headset is DEAD!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned them for less than a month and the audio no longer works wirelessly using USB dongle or Bluetooth and they will not connect to iCUE software. This is very frustrating for such an expensive headset. I may never buy a Corsair headset again.

Clean, Dynamic highs, Lows Requires Tweaking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT headset comes boxed in the tightest, most waste free packaging I've seen in any set of gaming headsets. This is a good move, I feel like all too often the product manufacturers think they have to justify their price tag by making this big elaborate box filled with paper and nonsense that we just toss out. In this case the box is reasonably spartan yet protects the contents very well in shipping. There's a padded cloth bag that they expect you to use when transporting them. It's a very nice bag, but I'm never gonna use this. These are going to stay right here on my desk for gaming. The enclosed cables (usb, 1/8" stereo extension) are really nice cables. They went with a braided usb cable that has some really solid gauge insulation on it with a nice solid connector on each end. The same is true of the wired stereo cable. These headphones can be connected either wired, wireless wifi, or bluetooth. To connect them via wireless wifi you will need to use the packaged usb dongle, which is nice and compact. They advertise that their connectivity is "high-fidelity, low latency, and has exceptional range"...but to be honest. They connected and worked, so I have no idea if they are better or worse than any other wireless headset. As well, you can connect them to both the wireless dongle and bluetooth on your phone at the same time. What matters is the sound. And these headphone produce an extremely clear, very loud sound. Out of the box, with Dolby Atmos enabled, the highs are too high, and the lows are almost non-existent and muddy. I started to panic a bit thinking something was up because these headphones have 50mm drivers, a good 10mm bigger than my previous set of Astros. But when they say that these have double the high frequency range of other gaming sets, they mean it. Clocking in at 20Hz-40,000Hz, when the typical set sits at 20Hz-20,000Hz, you can immediately hear the difference in that high range. It took a bit of discovery to realize that I had to open the Dolby Access app and disable Performance mode, which is designed to accentuate the highs to create a more positional audio experience for shooter games. Once I disabled the Performance mode, and switched to a balanced eq, I was able to cleanly hear some excellent lows and really clean highs. Overall these headphones produce an incredible sound worthy of the pricetag. They are nice and light and well constructed. They feel nice and sturdy and fit on my head very comfortably. The ear pads are nice and soft, but don't vent heat very well. So they get pretty warm on my ears with prolonged use. For a wireless set with a battery inside, I was really surprised by how lightweight they were. The mic boom is removable and has a button on it that enables you to quickly mute with a tap. There's a red light ring on the end of the boom that you can spot that gives you a clear indicator of whether you are muted or not. The RGB feature feels a bit like an afterthought and not real functional. It's basically just a small corsair logo on the back of each earpiece and then the light ring on the mic boom that changes colors. It requires you to install iCUE to get it to work, and truth be told the value just isn't there in having it turned on. It eats a little extra battery over time and you can't see it when wearing it anyway. The headphones have the ability to go to sleep after being laid down for a period of time (which you can adjust), and then will automatically turn back on when you pick them back up. They claim to have about 15hrs of battery life, but I haven't yet had the chance to really put that to the test. Overall, I would recommend these to a friend. Once I figured out how to overcome the overpowering highs and bring out the lows they really do shine. My only complaint is that they do heat up when wearing them and sadly I don't see a way to replace the ear cups later. Perhaps you can, but I'm not prepared to start yanking on them to find out. They sound great, and they are lightweight and wireless. You really can't complain!

Save your money
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset feels like they put all of their effort into the design and none into the functionality. The EQ out of the box sounds terrible and even after messing with the EQ for two plus hours, researching the best settings from other users and just trying to adapt to the sound it sounds like a tin can inside of a tin can. This headset might be worth it if it was $20 not $200.

Overpriced plastic
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wired / wireless switch broke in the first month. (stays in wireless mode no matter what position the switch is in) Then the mic stopped working in just under 2 months. The material on the ear cups is cheap and starts flaking away after a few weeks. Battery life is about half of listed specification. Have geek squad protection on it, going to get a replacement tomorrow.

Overpriced hunk of garbage.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst money spent, it beeps randomly, even when fully charged, the iCue software is horrendous. Mic randomly cuts in and out and support is only open on the weekdays, when I’m at work. Issues happening recently after the 15 day return policy ended. Unfit for communication and professional or gaming purposes.

Misleading
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Packaging was very misleading stating that this head set works with Xbox. When I got home and plugged them into my Xbox one they did not connect via the wireless adapter that is sold with it. When I dug a bit deeper into them I realized they came with a headphone adapter and when I plugged that up they weren’t working properly via that either

Buy Logitech Pro X Wireless, a far better headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Puchased these to replace a pair of Logitech Pro X wireless. Comfort was not the same, and side tone was non-existent. For the cost of these at 249.99, I expected a lot more. Returning after not having more than 24 hrs. Corsair really needs to step up with their headsets.

A Headset for everything. Literally, everything.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If there is one thing that Corsair has never been accused of, it's being unambitious with their higher end products. The Virtuoso XT seems determined to be the last headset you ever need to buy. With support for USB (Type A and C), 3 1/4" jacks, Corsair's proprietary slipstream wireless, and Bluetooth, I can't imagine any device that you couldn't connect this absolute beast of a headset to. You don't even have to pick and choose - it can support Bluetooth and any other connection simultaneously. Of course the ultimate question is if you really want to. And I have to say, it makes a pretty good case for itself. In the time I've spent with this headset, I've been thoroughly impressed by pretty much everything about it. It's comfortable to wear for prolonged periods. The audio quality is spectacular (particularly with the RF receiver and USB connections.) The Atmos support works better than any other headset I've tried. The battery seems to be capable of lasting just short of forever. The controls are well laid out. Even the RGB is stylish, adopting an understated logo shining through the thin metal at the sides rather than the usual in your face gamer aesthetic. And if that's not enough, the slipstream connector is designed to allow you to connect multiple compatible devices from Corsair, reducing the number of USB ports you need to devote to wireless peripherals. This does require you disable PlayStation 4 support, but I'd imagine many won't mind making the sacrifice. The one complaint I did have has to do with Corsair's usually excellent iCue software, which hopefully should be a temporary issue. When I first installed the beta version that has support for this headset, audio cut out over wireless and wouldn't come back until I'd completely uninstalled the drivers for the receiver and run it through Atmos setup again. There also isn't a ton you can do with the RGB, given that there are only a few very small lighting zones, so unless you need to update firmware or pair additional devices to receivers you won't be missing much if you choose to skip it altogether. All in all I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a headset that can easily be moved between multiple devices, wants to make full use of Atmos support, or simply wants something a bit different from the typical gaming headset design.

||Posted .
