Avoid the Void
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cant recommend this product based on the fact it lasted about 10 weeks. Had audio issues from the start and now it wont connect. Have messed with it for a hour and bluetooth and the usb dongle wont connect. This is the second Corsair headset that died in 4 years now. Both being brand new units always taken care of and never dropped or abused.

Comfort meets great sound and gameplay
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dolby Atmos with Spatial Audio is amazing as it brings that really nice true surround sound experience while being able to pick up and emphasize those background/surrounding area noises when playing RPG games and other games where sounds of movement are vital to know the location(s) of your opponents. The battery in these varies on the level of sound needed, but lasts for quite some time without having the need to charge as often as others. With the improved ultra-fast connectivity options, there is no noticeable lg in communications or gameplay audio. The omni-directional microphone is brilliant when it comes to best reduction of background noise with it’s easy flex and place design. Overall, this has a really nice design and feel when wearing as it not uncomfortable to wear. The ear pads cup your ears. Nicely while keeping them cool with how the pads are designed. Setup and connection is quick and easy via the latest Bluetooth and wireless capabilities built into the headset. This is one of the few highly compatible headsets across a good number of systems from PC, Mac, Mobile devices, and a limited number of gaming systems on the market today.

GOOD VALUE
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Corsair Void Wireless v2 Gaming Headset (Carbon) is a good value for gamers looking for a comfortable, sound-rich wireless option. The headset's 2.4GHz wireless connection gives you a range of up to 40 feet, providing freedom of movement without connection drops. The design is comfortable, with plush memory foam earcups and a padded headband that eliminate pressure points during extended gaming sessions. The large earcups fit comfortably over your ears and can swivel for a comfortable fit during short breaks from gaming. The headband's adjustability is standard, fitting most users, and after several hours of gaming, the headset felt secured on my head with minimal movements. The audio quality is good, with the drivers delivering a balanced sound profile that enhances the gaming, music, and movie experience. The unidirectional microphone with flip-to-mute adds to the convenience, as does the pinwheel sound volume control. The pinwheel, power, and mute buttons are all on the left side of the earcup for easy access. According to Corsair, this headset has a long-lasting wireless battery life of up to 65 hours via 2.4 GHz with the RBG off on a single charge, providing reassurance for extended gaming sessions. You can charge the gaming headset by connecting the micro USB cable to the port under the left ear cup or a computer, or by using an adaptor to connect to an electrical outlet. The wireless connections are stable. I did not have any issues with pairing the headset to my playstation or computer. The Bluetooth paired flawlessly. Although the microphone quality is not studio grade, my teammates reported clear voice quality during the gaming sessions. The Corsair Void Wireless v2 is a solid and comfortable wireless gaming headset that offers a good balance of features and performance for its price range. It's particularly well-suited for PC gamers and users who need seamless wireless compatibility across multiple platforms (MAC, Mobile, Playstation, Nintendo Switch). While it might not have the absolute best audio or microphone quality on the market, it provides a reliable and enjoyable wireless gaming experience.

A Champ in Its Tier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[PROS] Superb Battery: I'm unable to vouch for the 70 hour battery life claim. But I can confidently say that battery life remained well above 50% after more than a dozen hours of usage. Longtime Comfort: In my extended use of the Corsair Void Wireless V2, I found the headset pleasant to wear. For starters, it engulfed my ears despite them being larger than normal. I didn't get extremely sweaty in those areas even with prolong use. Solid Audio/Microphone: Out of the box, the default EQ profile was fine. Bass was solid, but I did perform a few minor tweaks. The inclusion of Dolby Atmos is a game changer and quite necessary. Environments and action producing noises are distinct and very clear. I'm able to determine directional presence with ease which is a major plus. The Microphone works pretty well and filters out the unwanted sounds properly. Other Positives: The software is easy to use and changes registered immediately. Also, the physical interface of the headset has a simple design. [CONS] USB Dongle Limitation: I'm starting to run out of USB A ports on my consoles and Gaming PC. It would've been nice to been able to convert the dongle to a USB C connector. Xbox Exclusion: This does limit the versatility of this device, but its not a surprise to be missing a platform. Gaming headsets that include the "Big 3" consoles are rare and usually come at a premium. No Line-In Port: Being unable to use to a Xbox console wouldn't sting as much if wired connectivity was an option. However, this would lead to confusion about the product given the wired connection can only be done through the Xbox Series controller port which is designed for headphones and not headsets unless using a special adapter. Microsoft discontinued production of their official headset adapter long ago so a used device or third party is the only option. Yet, there's no guarantee that audio and mic quality would've been on par with the other supported platforms. [CONCLUSION] The Corsair Void Wireless V2 proves that it doesn't need to have all of the bells and whistles of premium headphones. It has more than enough for an enjoyable experience.

Great overall headset!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it comes to "gaming" headset a lot of times the comfort and sound tend to be at best average and at worst downright terrible. But in this case, this updated version of the Void Wireless headset is actually pretty good. Obviously, it's not audiophile quality sound but for a decently priced headset its actually not bad and I don't mind listening to music or watching movies with the headset on. I feel the overall sound quality is actually really good and it's probably one of the few headsets where I don't feel like I have issues with the volume being too quiet even at max level. So much so that I could not turn the head set all the way up for fears that my ears might hurt afterwards. This thing gets plenty loud while still sounding really good. The other thing this headset has going for it is comfort. It has cloth earcups which is nice because I don't feel like my ears overheat and I'm able to wear the headset for several hours without my head feeling fatigued over a long session. This makes me want to reach for this headset over some of the other more expensive headsets I have laying around which is kind of unexpected. Finally, it's nice that I'm not limited to just being able to use this headset with my computer, I've been able to use it with both my Xbox and my phone which is a nice touch. Overall if you're looking for a decently priced comfortable, good sounding, and good volume headset this is a great option.

High Performance, Small Compromises
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the Corsair Void Wireless V2 Headset for approximately 3–4 weeks, primarily for gaming. Overall, my experience has been positive, though there are a few notable drawbacks worth mentioning. In terms of comfort, the headset performs reasonably well during long gaming sessions. However, the cushion firmness is a bit higher than I personally prefer, and during extended use, my ear tends to press against the internal speaker covering. This occasionally leads to minor ear discomfort. Sound quality is strong across the board for in-game audio, voice chat, and music. The microphone transmits my voice clearly to others without issue. However, when utilizing the microphone loopback feature to hear my own voice in the headset, the quality is poor, with audio coming through extremely muffled. This flaw detracts from the overall experience, especially during longer sessions where monitoring one's own voice is important. Wireless performance has been flawless. The connection is stable at all times, the range is sufficient for typical use scenarios, and the battery life is excellent. I have not needed to recharge it every night, which is a major convenience. The build quality appears solid. The headset feels sturdy in hand and maintains a visually appealing design. Although I do not often use advanced audio settings, I did explore some of the lighting customization options available through Corsair’s iCUE software. Given the limited lighting area on the headset, the customization is impressive, and the feature that allows lighting to change based on screen color works perfectly. Regarding physical controls, the button layout is acceptable. However, I have occasionally encountered an issue where flipping the microphone down does not always unmute it as expected, which can cause minor disruptions. In conclusion, I am satisfied with the Corsair Void Wireless V2 Headset. Despite a few small issues, the strong battery life, reliable wireless performance, and high-quality sound make it a worthwhile recommendation for others seeking a dependable wireless headset.

Versatile Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Corsair void wireless V2 gaming headset, for Nintendo switch, PlayStation, Mobile, and PC, is an excellent fit. Excellent fit. I have an odd shaped head that from an overhead view is more shaped like an egg than a circle. This results in many headphones not being comfortable for me. These are adjustable enough that they were very comfortable for me and for my wife who has a very different shaped head. On top of the comfort, these headphones are designed to last. The box states that these can go for 65 hours without a charge if you are not using the Bluetooth feature and not using the RGB lighting, which I don't really have a use for. I find the lighting to be distracting. In my testing, it was easily able to go 35 hours on Bluetooth, I meant to let it go longer, but I just have a habit of always charging my devices. The microphone in it is fantastic. I love when headphones have flip to mute control, meaning you can just flip the microphone back out of the way and it will automatically mute. That said, the sound quality. Is fantastic from the microphone. Additionally, these headphones support Dolby Atmos, so the sound is awesome! Whether you are gaming or watching movies.

Comfortable Wireless Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not just for gaming, these headphones work well for Zoom and Discord conversations as well as general music enjoyment. Corsair has updated their Void wireless gaming headphones to include Bluetooth to the standard wireless (with included USB dongle) connectivity option. I had no issues connecting the headphones using either method. Wireless is instantaneous once the dongle is inserted, and I had no issues pairing multiple devices using Bluetooth. Signal strength and range is fantastic with either, as I did not experience signal drop out through multiple walls or at ranges greater than the stated 50 feet for wireless and 30 feet for Bluetooth. Audio quality and spatial accuracy are surprisingly good. They provide a balanced, full audio range and are not too boomy or tinny. The microphone does a great job of picking up vocal inflections and tones without coming across garbled. These headphones are well constructed, relatively light weight and comfortable to wear over long periods of time without feeling like they are squishing your head. Reasonably priced, these are worth looking into as an affordable headphone option.

Decent, mid range gaming headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For this in the market for a decent gaming headset without breaking the bank, the Void fills that role quite nicely and for a decent price. I've used a number of different gaming headsets from Astro, Alienware, Logitech and Steel Series. Some are really great but usually come with steep price tags while others have been so-so at best; also sometimes with steep price tags. But the Void works great in that it's relatively inexpensive and wireless which is a nice bonus. Sound wise, this is decent. Not the greatest sounding headset I've used but also not the worst. Sound is clear and bass comes through OK. Fit wise, it's a tad tight for me but I have a large head so I'm sorta used to that. It fits OK but I find it uncomfortable during long gaming sessions. For reference, I wear a 7 1/2 fitted cap. There is a small bit of RGB on the headset but not much. You can control it through their iCue system to get all the pretty colors and such. Overall, a decent and affordable gaming headset with decent performance.

Compressed Audio, but a Generational Improvement
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR: Compared to Corsair’s previous generation & similarly priced HS80’s, the Void 2’s represent a marked improvement in audio quality even if the audio is overly compressed. PROS Audio Quality much improved over HS80’s Supports Dolby Atmos spatial audio 2.4GHz Range is Outstanding CONS Audio is still overly compressed and not as open & airy as the best gaming headsets Headband too narrow for my melon leading to a poor seal around the ear RGB lighting pointless & seems like an afterthought SET-UP The Void 2’s are set-up and configured by Corsair’s iCue software. While not my favorite, it does a decent job of making things easy enough. I will say that the software is about due for an overhaul. It is starting to get quite long in the tooth. Competitors’ products are more intuitive, polished, and easier to learn, but iCue isn’t the worst on the block either. One thing worth noting is that Corsair claims that the iCue software only installs the modules necessary based on your peripherals (or so they say). That is a nice change and keeps you from installing a whole suite of programs and features you may never need or want. Goodbye 1GB installation files! Thankfully, the Void 2’s can be used without the iCue software should you choose to do so. Aside from the RGB lighting controls, I found the Void 2’s worked equally well with just downloading the Dolby Access app from the Windows store. Sometimes, less is more, and I like not being mandated to manufacturer’s software to get a peripheral to function properly. Yes, you do lose the ability to control RGB lighting and firmware updates, but this is one of the few products that can function independent of its software! PERFORMANCE While the Void 2’s are still not as good in terms of audio quality as some of its competitors, Corsair has improved the audio quality from its previous generation of products. Unlike my review of the HS80’s, I found the new Void 2’s to be much more adept at music and movies. Not that the sound quality is necessarily bad, audio just seems overly compressed. The Voids don’t sound nearly as open, light, and airy as many of its competitors. I tried my best to open up the soundstage, but it just wasn’t happening. No matter if I used the 2.4GHz dongle or Bluetooth, it didn’t matter. I tried tuning it out with the Dolby Access app or the DTS app, but neither restored that spacious feeling I like. Still, the Void 2’s produced decent sound quality. I found I liked them the more I used them. While specifications at the time of writing are sparse, I’m guessing, like the previous generation, the Void 2’s use 50mm drivers and have a full range of 20Hz – 20,000Hz. Bass response was markedly improved over the HS80’s as well, but the higher frequencies still seem subdued and compressed. Speaking of that 2.4GHz dongle. Corsair nailed it on their transmission distance. I was able to walk from one end of my house where the office is to the far opposite side of the house with multiple walls in between with ZERO audio loss. WOW!!! Great job Corsair. That’s at least 60 feet away (direct line) and at least 6 walls in between. OUTSTANDING! CONS First. The biggest drawback is the overly compressed sounding audio. I’m guessing it is an algorithm issue, and I’ll bet Corsair can improve it with a firmware update in the future. Still, the audio is perfectly acceptable for gaming. You won’t give the audio quality a second thought if using the Voids for gaming. It is only when you want to chill with some music or a good movie do I notice the difference compared to my current set of cans. Second. The RGB lighting honestly looks like an afterthought. When I first laid eyes on them, I thought the lighting was added because a designer forgot to check that box off in the design stage. No illuminated logo, just 2 random bars that face the front of the headphones. It looks cheap and out of place. Third. For my big melon, the Void 2’s don’t fit quite right. If you have a normal sized head, you probably won’t experience any issues, but the top of the Voids are just a bit too narrow, forcing the bottom of the cups to not seal as good as the top half for me. Because of that, ambient sound leaks in. There is enough leakage that ambient noise almost seems like it’s being amplified while wearing the Voids. I attribute this primarily to the poor seal along the bottom of the ear cup. Most users probably won’t be affected by it. FINAL THOUGHTS Corsair did a fine job with the latest updates to the Void 2. Audio quality is improved over their previous generation of products that are similarly priced. While I do miss the spacious sound stage of my current cans, the more I use the Voids, the less I notice it. This is not an issue that I experience or care about while gaming. During game play, the Voids sound just as good as any similarly priced competitors’ products. It is only when I switch over to listening to music or movies do I notice any real difference. Unlike the HS80’s I reviewed, the Voids 2’s are not a deal breaker for me. Corsair has done what is needed to be done to improve the audio quality of this generation of headphones. I give the new Void 2’s a solid 4.5 on gaming and now a 4 on movies and music. A definite step up from the last generation. RECOMMENDED

Wow! I love these headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality of these headphones is excellent! I hear crisp highs and deep bass to the point that I can feel my ears vibrating from the low frequencies. The surround effects are impressive. I listened to multiple surround sound test videos and really enjoyed the effects. Straight out of the box, everything worked without any software download or installation. All I did was plug the dongle into a USB port and turn on the headphones. The devices were paired and didn’t require any configuration. I highly recommend plugging the dongle into a USB 2.0 port because the signal kept dropping when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. This is a known issue with wireless dongles, because USB 3.0 ports emit a lot of RF interference. It is no fault of the device, but I was hopeful that a newer device might be able to handle it. Once plugged into a USB 2.0 port, the connection was perfect, with absolutely no dropped connections. Physically, the headphones have a unique shape. They rest comfortably on my head and over my ears, but there are some gaps that allow some ambient sound in. If in a quiet environment, this does not matter. However, these headphones might not be the best option for someone in a noisy environment. There is no noise isolation since there is no seal around my ears. With that said, the shape is really comfortable to wear for hours at a time. I have also never felt bass like I do with these, so I wonder if the shape of the headphones contributes to better acoustics. The flip-up microphone with automatic mute is a great feature. I love having a mic attached, but I often eat with headphones on, so I don’t want the mic in the way. When it flips up, I forget it’s there, but it’s simple to lower it down and use it. There is a voice prompt that says “mic on” and “mic off” when the microphone is flipped, so there is confirmation that the audio is muted. Friends are happy with the sound quality when I use it to talk to them online. They also say my voice sounds natural with no filtering, so I am happy with it. Although there were no instructions included with the headphones, and the QR code to scan is not working yet, I eventually found a link to the Corsair software. I installed it and gained multiple additional features. The best part was the additional EQ settings. I was happy with the audio quality before I found the EQ, but I was extremely impressed when I turned on the “Movie Theater” mode. Wow! I love the preset! In addition to audio settings, there are tons of options for the LEDs on the front of the headphones, the ability to change button behavior and auto shutoff timer, and then my next favorite part – a dashboard with a ton of tiles showing hardware temperature and usage data. It is a nice-looking status monitor for the entire system. Overall, I highly recommend the headphones for gamers or other computer users who are in quiet environments. Personally, I love them! However, I wouldn’t recommend these if there are multiple people in the room or there is a lot of background noise since they don’t filter outside sounds.

Basic Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Corsair Void Wireless v2 comes with no instructions. There is a QR code on the box that is supposed to take the user to a manual, but it just goes to the generic Corsair website. I searched for the Void Wireless page, but it does not provide any links to a manual. This review is based on what I can figure out using a Windows PC. The headset comes with a USB-A dongle but also connects via Bluetooth. I used Windows Bluetooth to connect the headset to my PC. The headset uses Windows' Bluetooth capabilities with no added functionality. From what I can tell, there is no added functionality. A volume control on the left side of the headset works with the Windows volume control. There are also two buttons, power and a generic button that pauses and resumes audio. Perhaps the generic button does more, but it is trial and error without instructions. The headset also has a fixed boom microphone that mutes when flipped up. The headset has RGB lighting that changes randomly. I am not sure if and how the RGB pattern can be changed. The sound quality is good, and they are comfortable. They are a basic headset. When turned on, they do not automatically connect to the PC; I have to go into Bluetooth settings to connect them. Perhaps the experience is different with Mac, Mobile, PlayStation, or Switch.

Not comfortable for large hat sizes
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice mid range headset from Corsair. This newer version of the void features Dolby atmos which sounded very good. Music audio quality is good but behind my higher cost music headphones. Gaming performance was very good and the microphone was fine. I attempted to use on a corporate pc for voice recognition but was unable to get the sound to work. I also had issues downloading the software on one of the testing laptops (x3). The software is fine and there is support for the lighting. I texted mostly on windows and the usb dongle is somewhat large (usb - a) and there is a cord supplied . Equalizer is unavailable if using the windows spacial sound. I find the headphones un uncomfortable after relatively short periods of use. This is primarily due to their tightness on my head. I typically wear one of the larger hat sizes. The unit does support Bluetooth and utilizing the 2.4 GHz wireless. There was zero latency on gaming. There is also reported support for mobile PlayStation and switch.

Not Full Dual Audio as Advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall not a bad pair of headphones. Build feels cheap but well made. Very light while wearing. Disappointed that it's advertised as dual audio. While yes, you can use the 2.4ghz wireless and Bluetooth at the same time. The audio on your Bluetooth is for calls only. You have to single press the power button to switch to calls and multimedia audio while connected to a phone Bluetooth connection, which turns off the 2.4ghz connection. Kind of lame, since I was hoping for a full dual audio solution between my cell phone and computer. Probably going to return.
