The issue that I didn't know was that my old Paste had dried and stopped being useful. After cleaning off and reapplying (with Corsairs easy to apply tools included) my core temps went down 5-10c to where I think it was when I first applied paste back in the day.

Thermal paste does job

When ordering new processors they normally ship with paste but it is aways just junk.. i must have bought dozens of these by now. Easy cheep insurance.

Can't go wrong. It's pricey, but it's worth it.

In fact, I had to clean out the liquid metal junk out of my motherboard, and then I applied this. CPU and GPU were a lot cooler afterwards.
