An ok movie, not a classic though. My wife loves it but I found the plot to be predictable. The kid in the movie got pretty annoying.

Fun movie Carell is great. Drama mixed with black comedy. Gosling's abs steel the show.

Cal Weaver (Steve Carrell) is happy in his marriage and dotes on his two children. Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling) is dedicated to the pursuit of one-night stands with beautiful women. And Hannah (Emma Stone) is a soon-to-be lawyer in love with a man who her best friend believes is beneath her but who Hannah (Stone) is genuinely hoping will propose. But Weaver (Carrell) is blindsided when his wife of more than 20 years, (played by Julianne Moore) confesses she’s been unfaithful and wants a divorce. We soon find Cal Weaver living in an apartment spending an inordinate amount of time at a local pickup joint drinking heavily and repeatedly stating the particulars of his wife’s infidelity to the establishment’s clientele. This puts a serious crimp in Jacob’s evening and so he offers his advice and services as a life coach, of sorts. Meanwhile, he’s made several overtures to Hannah only to be rejected every time. I’ll admit, there are few moments where the characters find themselves in situations so embarrassing, that I can’t bear to watch. That said, this is easily the best comedy I’ve seen this summer, and perhaps this year. Good premise, great characters, and amazing twists you do not see coming. Loved it.

This movie was hysterical from start to finish, with some decently-dramatic scenes thrown in. I really felt for Cal when his life came down around his ears (multiple times), especially having been there myself. I very much enjoyed how the different plot lines all tied together at the end in a very unexpected way. However, the best scene of the movie (slight spoiler alert) is at the end when Cal (gently?) slaps Jacob twice and tells Jacob he'll be watching him, then Cal's daughter says "Oh, this is going to be fun!" The look on Jacob's face is priceless, and I laughed myself silly. Great movie, one my wife and I have watched multiple times and will watch many times more.

I think this movie is both romantic and hilarious. It's something both my husband and I can enjoy together. I like that this package includes the Blu-Ray, the DVD, and a digital copy, though I haven't used the digital copy yet to know how it works. However, one of the reasons I purchase any DVD or Blu-Ray is to be able to enjoy content you can't get by digital streaming alone, and the extras included on these discs are ho-hum. Overall, still worth the purchase since I intend to watch it several more times, with or without the extras :o)

I was really impressed with this movie. Typically there is a usual plot line most movie goers can follow along & predict what will happen. This movie does not follow the "standard". My husband & I loved it when we rented it on Netflix so much, we are going to buy it to keep in our collection! Must see!!

I gotta say this movie is absolutely amazing. the plot & the storyline way outside of box that any movies you may see like this usually stay within said box. kept my mind thinking how could this possibly end. just downright had me on my toes & on the edge of my seat. will be in my movie collection always

Title was correctly named! It was really funny and didn't have such an obvious plot like most movies like this one. It's definitely worth seeing.

My wife and I were skeptical of the movie at first so we waited to rent it from redbox. Watched it on a friday night and bought the movie from BestBuy when we returned our redbox on saturday.

This movie is awesome! There are a lot of laugh out loud moments. It's definitely one of my favorites. My husband really enjoyed it also, it wasn't a chic flick like he expected.

Such a great movie, acting was so great. Really funny and cute movie with an unexpected twist. I highly recommend!

Loverd the movie and will be watching it many time. Hate the ULTRAVIOLET digital copy and will never buy another DVD with it. Much prefer the option to download to MS Windows or iTunes.

This movie is so underrated. I am so happy that it was recommended to me. My family and I have watched it over and over!! Highly recommend this movie!
