Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone shine in "Creed," which tells the story of Adonis Johnson, the illegitimate son of the late Apollo Creed. Johnson seeks out the famed Rocky Balboa, played by Stallone, to help him train to become a boxer like his father. Together, they go on a journey to discover what it means to to have the heart of a champion. With a great supporting cast, "Creed" certainly ranks up there as one of the best movies in the "Rocky" franchise.

I was never a fan of rocky, I only ever saw bits and pieces of rocky balboa and rocky 4, and they were good but nothing I would fanboy over. Creed was what I thought Warrior would be, and what Warrior wasn't, amazing. I saw Warrior and let me tell you, I didnt like it. I fell asleep to be honest and it was for one reason, I didn't care for the characters. Creed made me feel, and had me invested all the way to the end. There are motivational moments, heartbreaking moments and more. This movie surprised the heck out of me and I love it.

With the final Rocky film, Rocky Balboa finally ending the Rocky saga properly, I was very leary of another film being introduced and using the character again. It took two tries to get it right, don't go messing it up now! So, I was pleasantly suprised to enjoy Creed as much as I did. It kind of took part of the story line from Rocky 5 and repackaged it and fixed it to make a good film within the Rocky universe. Michael B Jordan is great as Adonis and dare I say it, but it's one of Stallone's finest performances ever. Some of the film hit too close to home for me, but I won't throw any spoilers on why in case you haven't seen the film. A very worthy entry to the Rocky films and if you were on the fence about watching it, come on down off it and pick this one up.

i have to admit I was worried, another Rocky movie? But this continues the story in a way that makes it feel like the series continued on, and Rocky passed the torch to Apollo's son. Sly is excellent as usually, Michael B. Jordan worked hard and was great. Jordan looked like a fighter, the hunger, the hurt from his father's death, and his training. He should have been considered for some awards. A great authentic movie not just about Boxing, but about life. Just what I expect out of the Rocky series. Great stuff, check it out, buy it.

Well if you are deciding to on getting the spinoff of the rocky movie, what are you waiting for?!? As a movie, it's fantastic and does grab what the first rocky movie had. The emotion and drama of the movie was perfect and never felt forced for the sake of making a dramatic movie. A simple description of this movie is a drama earn your own stripes movie that happens to have boxing. Great performances and every training scene to each fight scene will get your heart pumping and might get you calling out "CREED! CREED! CREED!"

While Creed is the story of Apollo Creed's son more than a Rocky sequel, it is a great bridge in the series to possible new movies. This time Sylvester Stallone is in the Burgess Meredith roll as a trainer and he does a fantastic job (he got "jobbed" at the Academy Awards by the way!). All of the actors are excellent and the story within the bounds of the series is very plausible. You want it to go the way it does and the boxing footage is excellent. Even if you weren't a big Rocky fan, this is a must see/must have!

A new contender steps up or (more exactly) steps into the Star Spangled trunks of 70's and 80's glory. Michael B. Jordan is fabulous and convincing as the Prodigal Son of the late Apollo Creed. Sly takes things to a whole level by donning the role of the late and great Mickey. His scenes tug at the heart and remain to reveal how amazing the character of Rocky Balboa is. Rocky is the epitome of purity and goodness. I highly recommend this film for all Rocky fans and any sports film and even simply film fan.

I am a huge fan of the Rocky movies and was a bit skeptical about this movie when it came out. I wasn't sure if it could live up to the Rocky movies since Rocky isn't fighting and the main character. After watching, Creed is a knockout! Sylvester Stallone gives a touching and heartfelt depiction of an aging Rocky and you can see why he was nominated for an Oscar. He meets and helps Apollo Creed's son train for a big fight, teaches him about life and the two become close and love and respect each other.

Creed is considered one of the best films in the Rocky franchise. As a die-hard fan of the Rocky Franchise, and of Sylvester Stallone, I loved every single thing about Creed. But, this film goes beyond any opinion of a die-hard fan. Here is why: I watched this film in a packed theater, and at the end of the show, every single person stood up and clapped. Such an occurrence is rarely seen, even at the block-busters such as Star-wars. This is a must-have for anyone who enjoys experiencing great film

What a welcome surprise. This is a great American entertainment. Well acted, gritty, heartfelt and one of the best entries in the beloved Rocky series. Credit director Ryan Coogler for all of it. This movie has just the right quiet tone. Michael B Jordan is terrific in the lead. Tessa Thompson makes the love interest more than just a bracelet. And Sly Stallone is every bit as good as his Oscar nomination suggested. Well worth your purchase and your time. One of the best movies of 2015.

I absolutely loved this movie. When I first heard a movie where Apollo's son would be the main character, I rolled my eyes. I enjoyed the trailer, but I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm more than happy to say I absolutely love it. It's not as good as Rocky 1, but is on par with Rocky 2. Stallone's performance alone is enough to get you choked up, but if you don't well up towards the end, you are a robot. I would've liked more extras, such as a commentary, but the film is great enough.

I had the opportunity to screen this movie prior to its theatrical release. This movie has it all: wonderful acting, compelling characters, humor, drama, and Stallone reprising his iconic role. It's a new day and a new champion steps up in the form of Apollo Creed's son. The movie is great; it has all the heart of the original Rocky. I will say I thought the love/relationship part of the movie left a little more to be desired but every other aspect was spot on. Highly recommended!

After many thought the Rocky franchise was over after 2006's Rocky Balboa, Ryan Coogler revives the franchise by providing a fresh, modern perspective on the boxing movie genre. Great cast is anchored by solid performances from Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, and Sylvester Stallone. Great boxing action and callbacks to past films helps make this film a real winner.

I have gone to all the Rocky movies since the first. In this one Stallone made the wise decision to have someone else direct for the main purpose of making this Rocky Movie contemporary with audiences. It had a side benefit when this very same director brought out the best in Stallone, to the point of Oscar worthy and he was nominated for best supporting actor.(He should have won hands down). That being said, it made for a great chapter in the Rocky saga and entertained.

A sequel to Creed has already been announced, and it's not hard to imagine possibilities for continuing Adonis' story, but a subsequent chapter will be hard-pressed to replicate Creed's intensity. Both Rocky and his creator had to be convinced by younger men they had inspired that they still had work to do. The thrill of those twin discoveries blazes through the screen, fired even more by the younger men's joy at connecting with their pasts. Highest recommendation.

When I first heard that there was going to be a new movie with Rocky in it I was a little leery... thankfully though, Creed is a nice addition to the Rocky line. While not really a Rocky sequel, its a well done movie that does stand on its own. Seeing Stallone in the role of Rocky but showing his age was interesting and maybe even a little bit inspiring. I can definitely recommend this movie, specially if you enjoyed the Rocky movies or boxing movies in general.

I might have been born in the late 80's but have loved the Rocky series for years. You know, it is just one of those series that gets you pumped and into the action...and this one just misses that mark. Ever since I saw the trailer I have been excited for this film and I will say that it will not disappoint. Stallone plays an amazing supporting character while Jordan takes the lead. The movie as a whole works and takes the series in a bright new direction but not without its flaws. The story while mostly original plays out a lot like the first Rocky which is not a bad thing but not a great thing. If you like the others, watch this one!
